Cot Quilt

2 Attachment(s)
Here are two pictures of a cot quilt I finished in February. The size is 83,5 x 101 cm (33 x 40 inches), it's hand quilted and I used a Tuscany Poly Batting and YLI Handquilting Thread.
I'm very happy to say that the quilt won two awards at the Great Northern Quilt Show in Harrogate, UK recently, the 1st price in the Cot Quilt category and the Hand Quilting Award.

Yes, I did. The quilting pattern is derived from the design of a diamond tiara owned by the British Royal Family. I found a picture of it in the internet and made some cardboard templates. The patterns are marked out with the darning needle, my favourite marking method.

That is fantastically beautiful. The love and care that went into it is amazing. Congratulations on your wins. I envy your patience and skill to make a whole cloth quilt by hand. It is truly an heirloom to be passed on for generations.

I used selfmade cardboard templates. Sometimes I also use stencils, but not for the cot quilt here.
