#1 Barb

Sierra 08-20-2011 12:35 PM

I asked my husband and he said #1! I told him some people say that makes them dizzy and he said, "Yes, I can see that, but it is INTERESTING, the other is so USUAL.

for what its worth.........

Kristin in ME 08-20-2011 01:07 PM

Between these options, I'd definitely say #2. But I also agree that you should just complete the blocks and then play with the layout. You may end up with something that you didn't even think of to begin with.

GAgal 08-20-2011 01:11 PM

I like #1. It is like a hall of mirrors when you look at the center. Cool!

szyquilt 05-14-2013 03:52 PM

Here's the finished quilt! #2

Thanks for all your suggestions!
I finished the hand quilting on it a few months ago.

snownannie 05-14-2013 03:57 PM

I like #2.

juneayerza 05-14-2013 04:54 PM

Number 2 for me also. Number 1 makes me kind of dizzy when I look at it. LOL

4EVERquilt 05-14-2013 05:35 PM

I agree with sewbizgirl

nancysp 05-14-2013 05:53 PM

Beautiful, thanks for sharing.

sewmerry 05-14-2013 06:17 PM

I think #2 looks more balanced

Jvan228 05-14-2013 07:26 PM

I love options 1. But then, I like DIFFERENT.

djmat 05-14-2013 07:31 PM

#1 looks like a mirror in a mirror in a mirror... love it! #2 needs a Center Block to make it even prettier!

DebbE 05-15-2013 05:36 AM

#1 makes me dizzy! LOVE #2, though.

NIICHMOM 05-15-2013 06:28 AM

I love your #1, I started a tube quilt, and my pattern worked out to be a pinwheel. I need to bind it yet.

nygal 05-15-2013 06:32 AM

I like #1 because I think it is more visually interesting.

tessagin 05-15-2013 07:15 AM

I like Option 1. Looks like an illusion and it's different. Also like Option 2; it's easier on the eyes.

LindaMRB 05-15-2013 01:41 PM

I like #2 as well. #1 does not seem to "arrive" and I feel like I've gotten lost.

craftynell 05-17-2013 11:39 AM

I like #2 the best, but it is your quilt so you do it the way you like.

suzyq2154 07-13-2013 05:48 PM

I really like #1 best. It reminds me of those optical thingys that are supposed to be like what a dragonfly sees.

redquilter 07-13-2013 05:54 PM

I like #2. The first one makes me a little dizzy.

yolande 07-13-2013 07:48 PM

You could also make a zigzag quilt, scrappy looking.

JuneBillie 07-14-2013 12:43 AM

I like number 1. As someone else said, number 2 is so standard, but number 1 is very interesting.

QM 07-14-2013 12:47 AM

I think either could be fine. #2 would give you great open spaces to show off your quilting, if that is what you want to do. The bottom line is it's your quilt and your decision. If I had made those blocks and chosen #1, I might rearrange blocks so that there was a large square on point using the blocks with deep red on the outside, giving an overall unification. Be sure to show us what you decide to do with these blocks.

tessagin 07-14-2013 02:15 AM

I like them both! Love the illusion effect they give!

Evelynquilts 07-14-2013 03:08 AM

I like # 1

These are layouts created with EQ6 software. I scanned samples of the fabric, so these are the blocks I have to work with. The resolution isn't that great, but just trying decide which layout to use.
What do you think? I appreciate your help!

How about one of each!!!. Love it

smagruder 07-14-2013 03:47 AM

I like #2 best. The other looks very busy to the eye.

craftynell 07-18-2013 10:09 AM

I vote for #2.

I really like this - looks great!

cindyw 10-28-2013 04:00 PM

You did a great job! I like the pattern and the color choices!

paintmejudy 10-28-2013 04:05 PM

Of the 2 choices, I vote for #2. But I have made a couple of these quilts with this block, and had all the rows identical, like isolating one-quarter of the quilt, all 4 quadrants facing like same. Try it, you may like it.

nannyrick 10-28-2013 04:31 PM

I love #2. Beautiful quilt.

Ginny4jah 11-03-2013 12:47 PM

I like number 2. I think it looks really nice.

Debbie B 11-03-2013 01:52 PM

I like the first quilt. It's different.
