This quilt top is the same patterns as my avitar picture. But this time I did it mostly in batiks. This time I did not follow the pattern in the recomended color choice. It is very colorful, hopefully not too much. I thread painted it with rayon thread. Now to figure out how to quilt it. All I know for sure is I want feathers on the borders. Any suggestions for quilting it will be appreciated.

I like the idea of the feathers, for sure. How about outline quilting and even putting in some lines to indicated the feather texture and quilting in the chicken wire?
I really like the rooster, good thread painting.
What if your border quilting was in the pattern of the chicken wire. I think that might look neat.
Looking at your work on the top, I'm sure that whatever you decide to do on the quilting end will be gorgeous, too. Your thread painting is exquisite!
I really like the 2nd Chicken. The thread painting really stands out on it so well. You did a great job, both times.
That is really beautiful. Such detail on those feathers.

Very striking. I love it! The thread work is nice. I think too much quilting might take away from it. Maybe some echo quilting?
This is wonderful ... just stunning. I love chickens and you have captured them perfectly.

No suggestions, but wanted to tell you I think you did a GREAT job  the thread painting is awesome

I have never heard of thread painting but I will check it out - the blocks are awesome and I absolutely love the entire quilt. I recently bought one of these chicken patterns - I can't wait to get it done now - great job!

Wow! Spectacular. Is that your own pattern or can you give us the pattern name you used? My Mom is a barn yard animal freak, especially chickens, roosters and cows.

Oh but this is lovely! I like them.
Beautiful! Like the idea of feathers in the border (what else? LOL) and agree to keep it simple in the body of the quilt so as to not detract from those exquisite chickens and roosters!
