These blocks were made by a new member of our Sewing club here in Spain. I thought they were so different I asked if I could post them here for you all to see the fabulous work she did.
They are I suppose Crazy blocks with fibre art, different for sure. There are quite a few so bear with me whilst I post them. This is Yvonnes work |

Elle |
Beautiful!
I have just hunted out a book I bought ages ago by Judith Baker Montano called Art Insiprations and the work in there is very similar only some have been made into clothes. Really nice book to have
Elle |
Beautiful work. Lovin' those dragonflies with the ribbon wings. I do silk embroidery and appreciate how much time consuming work went into these. My compliments to her!! Lovely!!
I love the look of a crazy quilt with the different types of fabric and embellishments. All I have is cotton fabric, even for clothing. Anyone know of a place that sells scrap bags of good quality pieces that include velvet, satin, jaquard, etc.?
Tell her I think they are beautiful!! I'd really like to do something like that, but I don't have the imagination to design.
Will pass them on, thanks. there is a lot of work in each block. I donīt know if its going to end up as a quilt or if she is making some small needle cases out of each block. Also she had some little bags she had made from them as well. Must ask.
Beautiful
Beautiful pieces. I wish I had the patience to do something like this. I just want to make an old fashioned crazy quilt and can't even make myself get started on that. Maybe someday.
I love the blocks. I have Montano's book, and that is another Someday project. The Bucket list groweth
Absolutely beautiful work. I especially like the dragonflies. Thank you for sharing these!

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful work of art with us. I have not seen anything like it before. Very pretty. Yes, it looks like it would take lots of time. They are each beautiful.
Oh Those are really pretty Elle! I was thinking they would make a wonderful quilt, but maybe she does have other plans for those pretty blocks.
I know you would do that technique well Elle, it looks right up your alley. I'll look forward to your tute on it! |
Oh my those are so pretty. Thanks for sharing them with us.
They are exquisite. I've always admired the workmanship on crazy quilts - thanks for sharing
They are stunning, thanks for taking the time to share them.
I am very "into" embellishing and before I left work I purchased an excellent book - it is called "The Magic of Crazy Quilting : a Complete Resource for Embellished Quilting" 2nd edition - author - J. Marsha Michler. It is very detailed, instructions are very easy and it will really get your imagination firing. Hope your friend is going to put them together...what an amazing quilt they would make. |
These are so pretty , I have seen this kind of crazy quilts before
it gives you a opportunity to use all your fancy stitches on your machines and even to use your embroidery machines and rick rack and lace's and such. Thanks for sharing your friends blocks with us :D  |
Absolutley beautiful!
Going to have to make nice with her! <looking for another bag> |
WOW!! Wiping the drool off my keyboard!!! I think they would make an incredible quilt, but not one you could actually use for fear it would be destroyed if you needed to wash it! But she does gorgeous work!!
WELL THANKS VERY MUCH !!!!!!!! another project to put together 1 day :)
