I'm finally getting around to trying the D4P block. I Started with two bright fabrics in my stash. I Only had enough for 5 blocks, so I figured I would use four blocks as a center, and just keep adding borders. I continued using brights from my stash, as it will eventually end up with a child when I am ready to donate it. I would use the 5th block on the back. The color in the pictures isn't quite as wonderful as in person, darn it! But you get the general idea. At a certain point I ran low on coordinating brights, so I did buy a couple more fabrics to finish it up. There are hardly any florals in the top, so it's not girly, just youthful. I finished the top, and started working on the back. Amazingly, I still had quite a bit of the same fabrics leftover from the top, including the piano key border strips. I lacked just enough fabric that the back isn't the same exact square size as the top, so if I use it, I will have to lose some of the piano key border of the top, and it hurts to think about that! I laid the back out on the floor, and decided I like it too much for it to be a back! So now I have two tops to donate, and I won't have to trim the piano key border on the top after all. My next problem, of course, is that I need to find something to use for the backs!

So bright & vibrant. Absolutely beautiful.

Wow! Thanks everybody! I'm itching to move ahead with another D4P, using two coordinating flannels -- I never could find a third one to offset them in some other design. So I'm thinking I'll just go with the two using the D4P. Those two flannels are some more that have been in the stash too long.

These are really beautiful and I love the bright colors. How cheerful and supportive these will feel to those who are lucky enough to be recipients. What a joy for someone. Thank you for sharing.
