Lol LOL I have no idea how many squares are in it. the nine patch measures only three inches and every other square is a 3" block and a 3" nine square block. They keep repeating accross the Quilt. ( patch then 3" plain block), understand ?

Ahh ... I see. So this love of textiles and colorways is not a spur of the moment occurance. You are spectacular at this and should never give it up, dick. The attention to detail shows in your piecing and design choices. Very nice!
Any designer we would recognize?

ps) I will have to remember the shoulder pad trick when I outgrow my dress form. That's a good one.

Beautiful!

Thanks so much for posting the birth of your stunning quilt. I find it very interesting how differently male quilters approach the whole design and construction process. We are fortunate indeed to have so many talented fellas amongst our number. Something that doesn't occur too often in groups/guilds we may attend in person.

Google #Blooming Nine Patch#

Go to Amazone Books and look for this book.
# Tradition With a Trist # By Blanche Young and Darlene Young Stone

I started with the look of the --Blooming nine patch--on Page 79 then I did my own thing. I have finished 3 quilts starting with new colors and then worked into my own design and they all look differant. Go for it and now I hope to see blooms all over this BOARD. Have fun.

Impartant note, Never think of how long it will take, if you do , then you will not want to work it. If you want that beautiful Quilt, do it.

Your quilt is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your tute.

nannya54 11-11-2010 05:38 AM

There's a lot of piecing to that one and it turned out beautifully. What a stunning quilt!

homecaregiver 11-11-2010 05:46 AM

I totally agree with the fabric in the beginning not to my liking but boy you did wonders and the finished product is a tribute to that. Seems you have an eye for seeing what the fabric would become in a finished product. I just love the finished quilt and it would look great on my bead.
Keep up the good work. Love all your quilts and thanks for sharing your work.
