A dear friend of mine who is a quilting inspiration to me recently finished her Dear Jane quilt top. It is so gorgeous I just had to share it with you all. It took her 6 years from beginning to end. She is sending it to a woman to hand quilt for her.

Isn't this a work of love??

Inspiring! I only have 4 blocks of mine finished. I was going to do it all by hand because of a comment DFIL made about my DMIL and her quilting. Then DH asked what I was thinking-use the machine! He isn't concerned with the method- he is more concerned about how many I finish.

Thanks for sharing the pics!! I planned on seven years

Izy-She bought the computer software in addition to the book. Some of the blocks she paper pieced, some she machine pieced and others she hand appliqued.

She does absolutely amazing work. I am so proud of her.

barnbum 03-12-2009 02:06 PM

GORGEOUS!!! That is by far my favorite quilt ever!! I saw one at the first quilt show I went to and immediately fell in love with it. I bought the book and the software, just haven't gotten around to it. Someday. Please tell your friend she did an awesome job!!

Butterflyspain 03-16-2009 02:16 PM

My oh my that is one work of dedication, simply beautiful tell your friend.

Crafty1 03-16-2009 02:24 PM

Beautiful work!

Riley 03-16-2009 02:59 PM

I've made this quilt but I must say mine is not this lovely!

I would like to use the excuse that mine is lacking because there were not the wonderful CW Fabric available then as now. That happens to be true!

The whole truth would be that I have honed my skills making this quilt.
There is all the difference in the world of my beginning blocks & the ending blocks. This quilt is a great teacher!

Riley
