I wonder if because it's heavy it might be a good choice for the autism quilts? I'm sure that's not spelled right but I'm drawing a blank.

You spelled it correctly ... so, I am guessing that autistic individuals need the security of being around solid items? Because I guarantee ... any blanket made out of denim IS solid!
I made one for the Air Force boy while he was in Academy ... he told me that not only would he be able to survive any storm/blizzard, but there would be no chance that either he or the quilt would blow away! LOL

I will still do my EPP...but I think the machine will be the way I will proceed on my quilting journey. After Christmas I am going to dust off my old Pinnock and get going with some more.

Please explain the (EPP) to the layman or us newbies?

English Paper Piecing ... which according to my loose western interpretation is the same as Paper Piecing or foundation piecing.
Good questions! Best way to get involved in the Board <wave>

Beautiful work. I, too did a denim quilt for my first quilt. My son, (the recipient), says the same thing....can't turn over in the bed under it. Although my quilt is basically only one layer with small(4 inch) squares of cotton fabric sewn into it. I guess that I sorta got carried away with making it since it covers a queen/king size bed. But, my son absolutely loves that it is about the only one he needs on the bed during cold Iowa winters :D
