Just beautiful!
Thanks everyone...and for all you quilters that haven't tried this block yet...do it, it is so darned easy peasy but what fun too!!
I used two packs of charms that had 50 pieces in each, with lots of different fabrics in about 6 different colourways. luckily Cathy M sent me yardage for borders etc. as I was short by 7 pieces to make up 12 blocks. These fabrics are absolutely gorgeous the pictures don't do the colours credit, and the fabric is so soft, a real pleasure to sew with, thanks again Cathy :D |
 Lovely!
Izy...just wonderful.....stunning....fabulous.....okay you get the picture....just love this pattern too....
I love it!! Scrappy disappearing 9 patches are so much prettier than the ones only using a few colors. Those are rather boring to me but yours is awesome!
Izy, It is so beautiful and delicate, I love it.
Awwwhh you are all so kind...I haven't done much straight forward piecing, and this was good practice at matching up all the points, takes a bit to work out which way to iron left then right so the two 'lock', so each time I learn something new!!
That is one beautiful quilt.
What a beautiful mix of fabrics! I love it!
Thanks Gracie, this block is great for beginners, check the other posts about disappearing nine patches, there are some links to show you how if you haven't done it before :D
That is precious! So soft and sweet. Perfect for a baby or grandmother. :D

Wow thanks everyone for your praise...couldn't have done it without Cathy M, who sent over the fabrics.
Barnbum...you guessed right...this will be a christmas pressie for my Mum back in the U.K. they have long miserable winter days and it gets cold during the day...Mum being mum she won't put the heating on during the day as everything is so expensive to run, so I think this will look lovely in her lounge which is greens, beiges and a hint of pink - perfect to keep her snuggly while she reads :D |
ooooooooooooooooooo pretty
I love these fabrics--so soft! I'm working on a wall hanging using these same fabrics now. It's all put together, and I'm hand quilting it. That way I get to fondle those soft fabrics while I work! Your quilt is gorgeous!
Very pretty
Thanks folks - I am just adding the final border....boy have I had a time of it....the quilt was made in hours...the blinking borders... well don't go there, I don't think I was in the right frame today...even stitched one of the borders on back to front.....to name but one of many ooops!!!

Fantastic job Izy!! I love playing with those goofy charms. And the disappearing 9 patch pattern is addictive. I have one quilt top almost done using that pattern and some Texas bluebell fabrics. :) :) :) :) :)

Oh, Izy--it is even more exquisite with the borders!! You really framed your work of art well. Your Mum is going to love this quilt. The beautiful colors will really brightened her dreary winter days. Hope you can get a pic of her when she opens her package so we can all see her reaction.
That is turning out really pretty the border is just perfect.

I can't wait to get cracking on the quilting next, I am going to use the remainder of the border fabrics for the backing and I have a lovely soft baby pink for the binding. I might even put this in the exhibition we are holding in October.....we will see how well the quilting turns out first  |
how soft and dreamy.... ....very sweet :D
Izy- tell your mom that the quilt comes with loads of hugs from all your friends on the board. That will warm her up :):)
