Disappearing Hourglass

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all!
I've been working so much overtime (since October!), I haven't had time to visit the board much. The cold weather has allowed me some sewing time on the weekends, though.
After seeing the tutorial for the disappearing hourglass block, I just had to try it for myself. I did my best to avoid any stretching (since there's so much sewing on the bias); and I thought the blocks were coming out fairly flat and square. Unfortunately, the more blocks I put together, the less flat the assembly was. So I quit at 5 x 5 blocks. and didn't even try to add a border.
This will be for a coworker's new baby. It is made almost entirely from the fabrics this coworker passed down to me from her late mother-in-law.
While I intended for the quilt to be bigger, I can see it will be a good size for in a stroller, or in the car, or for the little one to drag around.
Thanks for looking!

Great Job, I like that pattern and it is on my to-do list getting closer to the top of list... When I keep seeing that pattern I am tempted to move it closer to the top...LOL Thanks for sharing

GREAT that you got it done. We all learn from our mistakes. I don't understand why so many quilters want to try a block with so many bias edges. I never found bias to be friendly to me either so I try avoiding it as much as possible.
