My children gave me a quilt display chest for Christmas. I love being able to see several all neatly displayed.

Whoa! I have never seen one of those but it is a beauty. I'd love to have one!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 01-07-2011 10:37 AM

It does look pretty all stuffed with quilts.

lovingmama 01-07-2011 10:37 AM

I like it a lot, didn't even know you could get something like this.

On different occassions you can put different quilts in. What a nice gift.

sally's girl 01-07-2011 10:37 AM

wow... I love the quilt chest....would love one like that to display my mom's quilts she made for me. will have to find one.

Cyn 01-07-2011 10:43 AM

Just found one on sale at Penney's but the reviews weren't very good for the most part :(

Carrie Jo 01-07-2011 10:43 AM

What a great idea. I love it

KathyAire 01-07-2011 10:43 AM

You are a well loved mom. I've seen those display chests at a quilt show and they don't give those things away. That is very thoughtful of your children to get that for you. It looks wonderful with your quilts in it. Lucky you.

RevPam 01-07-2011 10:46 AM

That is so cool! I've never seen (or heard) of one of those.

PurplePassion 01-07-2011 10:48 AM

Very beautiful. Does it have glass sides or plastic?

Quilter7x 01-07-2011 10:51 AM

I've seen them at big quilt shows. Usually the vendor selling them makes them. They are beautiful cabinets, well worth the money. Usually it is glass vs. plastic.

Ditto! the Phoenix(AZ) Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival Show that is coming the 27, 28, 29th at the fair grounds on 19th avenue and McDowell Road, usually has a vendor that makes and sells these and other great wooden items.

quiltnerd 01-07-2011 12:22 PM

Beautiful - I have to send the picture to my DH as an idea for future gifts!

pittsburgpam 01-07-2011 12:22 PM

That's really nice! I wonder... is the glass UV protected? Would it keep the quilts from sun fading on the parts that are visible?

Prissnboot 01-07-2011 12:27 PM

Very meticulously folded to showcase the beauty in the limited showspace available for each quilt. I saw some of these cases at the Houston quilt show and thought they were really neat! Hope you enjoy yours in health and happiness for years to come!

My daughter found this by using Google and typing in Quilt Chest. I had seen the Penny's ad and that is where we started. This one came shipped from New Brunsfel, TX--packed (guarenteed to arrive in tact) extremely well.
The couple who made this started their business with him making his wife a chest and from there, their business grew.

makakehau 01-07-2011 01:43 PM

How gorgeous!

I do not know about the glass. I have it where the light is very filtered and near a window that the sun never shines directly in.
