Some of you know that my DMIL was suffering from Alzheimer's. She passed away quietly last Friday. DMIL was a quilter. She and I spent a lot of time discussing what heaven would be like and pondered the quilt shops that might await us. I wanted to share a few photos from her memorial service and I felt my friends here would understand....We shared some of her quilts at the service and her pastor wove his message around her life in quilts.

My husband is a retired minister, what a beautiful tribute to your DMIL. The quilts are beautiful....our lives are so much like a quilt. I have always said, when I get to heaven, got will look at the quilt of my life and show me how much simplier it would have been to put the pieces together the way He wanted me to, instead of the way I did and then having to rip and repair, rip and repair.....beautiful tribute to a beautiful life, so sorry for your lose....

Painiacs 07-21-2011 03:41 PM

I am sorry for your loss. Alzheimer's is awful. What a lovely tribute to her to display her quilts. When my gramps passed, we displayed alot of his tools and his different sewing machines that he had worked on. I have one of his old 15-91's.
