I like the border and wouldn't change it. To me this border makes the whole Quilt shining.

Please enjoy your quilt. It is completed and beautiful.

Your blocks are beautiful. I agree the border jumps out and you want those blocks to be seen first. You did a great job.
|
I love your quilt just as it is. The bold border draws my attention.... then my eyes dart to your awesome blocks...... I see the border as a beautiful frame that allows me the choice of view. It is stunning as is!!!!!

I could very easily live with it..If you focus on the pieced blocks the border becomes a background to the emerging blocks

I LOVE THIS QUILT! I LOVE THE SMALL PURPLE BORDER ALSO!
Leave the purple border and go with a lighter fabric for your outer border. Light tan for you wider border.....like the back ground in some of your blocks would be georgous! Hope this helps, would love to see it when you finished! God bless! :) |
I wouldn't have a clue how to do piping on a quilt...nor quite frankly do I want to.....the quilt is beautiful as it is and I would NOT under any circumstances change it.....if it's a queen size quilt, that border section will hang down on the bed and will not be so noticeable as it is laying flat...I'm a firm believer that what is done is done...we could obsess over and over on a quilt.....IT'S BEAUTIFUL AND IT'S DONE!!

The quilt is beautiful...and I like the border!

There is the option of trimming that outer boarder down to a skinny width , and adding an additional lighter wider outer border. Try auditioning a lighter boarder by laying a piece down enough to show a very skinny slice of the outer boarder you have now.

And by the way................your quilt is absolutely gorgeous! Love the pattern, colors, and the beautiful workmanship!
