That is an awesome quilt! The border doesn't bother me because it will be hanging over the edge of the bed and you'll just see the quilt center.

It comes over too busy and too bright. I could see that crème yellow that is found in some of the corners of the small stars work. Remember though that once on the bed the borders will fall down and it might look very different. Also we are all looking at picture on a different monitor so in real life it might not be as drastic as it look on the picture. Sometimes I just want to call it a day and get done. It is a gorgeous quilt.

As I auditioned fabrics from my stash, the one I chose for the border seemed to be perfect; now that it is attached, however, it seems to jump out and annoy me. Although I'm not changing anything about this quilt (except for quilting and binding, I am done!) but I am attaching a not-very-good picture and would like to know what you think, in particular about the border. It is much better in this picture. I would say leave it as it looks really good. What a stunning quilt!

I think it's a beautiful quilt, whatever you decide. It might help to view the quilt on the bed rather than all stretched out. As you say, the border will have a different appearance then.

There is the option of trimming that outer boarder down to a skinny width , and adding an additional lighter wider outer border. Try auditioning a lighter boarder by laying a piece down enough to show a very skinny slice of the outer boarder you have now.
