Just looking for opinions... do you think this fabric is too busy to be appealing?

The first one a closeup. Sorry I don't have a better "over-all" one.

Here are some others from the same collection, to give you a sense of "context".

jljack 02-09-2010 03:34 PM

Kind of is busy, but I like it....maybe as center of a medallion?

And a few more. The group is a future one from Wilmington, aptly named "Harvest Market".

KGoodhand 02-09-2010 03:41 PM

A little busy but I still like them!

mamatobugboo 02-09-2010 03:48 PM

I think they would be great as a border. Maybe too busy for use in blocks, unless fussy cut portions of it for the center of a star or something....

Marjpf 02-09-2010 03:58 PM

Busy yes, but it all depends on how you use them. I could see the first one as a large center block for a wall hanging. It would also make fun and cute placemats.

rootyr 02-09-2010 03:59 PM

I like them.

KBunn 02-09-2010 04:02 PM

A little busy but I think they would be cute as placemats....potholders...or wallhangings.

marsye 02-09-2010 05:11 PM

I like them all!! I guess it would depend on what your gonna use them for.

Sheila Elaine 02-09-2010 05:15 PM

I like the two with carts & the first two.

nursie76 02-09-2010 05:15 PM

I like them all!

JAQ 02-09-2010 05:18 PM

Oh you could really have fun with the first one. You could make it the centerpice or cut it down, centering on subjects (the word Quilts, or the jars, etc) and use those cuts as blocks.

The others are beautiful too.

Dawn Hendrix 02-09-2010 05:23 PM

LOVE those pumpkins and gourds and the leaves.. mercy my mind is spinning with those.

Quilter7x 02-09-2010 05:25 PM

I love them! I can easily see the top one as a backing to anything in the kitchen as well as potholders, an apron, the top to a kitchen towel that goes over the oven door handle or curtains. Great fabric!

MamaBear61 02-09-2010 05:41 PM

I like them too. I think you would just have to carefully plan where they are used

sewjoyce 02-09-2010 06:27 PM

Very busy!! Would make nice stuff for kitchen though :D

beachlady 02-09-2010 07:08 PM

I like all of them - even the busy first one.

oldswimmer 02-09-2010 07:55 PM

I dont care for the first one... too busy for me. but the other ones are nice. They would make a great autumn kitchen grouping.

sewsue 02-09-2010 08:04 PM

Just love those fabrics and there is so many things one can do that my head is spinning, use the first as large centre and then cut the others into small blocks and the border for the border. heheheheh placemats table runner gee one could go on as most here have such lovely ideas.
hehehehe just love the bright colors and cutie prints.

Dorothy of Kansas 02-09-2010 08:15 PM

The "busy" first print would make an awesome Stack-n-Whack. Can you image the many different looks it could achieve??? Boggles the mind and the other prints could be used as the borders or sashings and background.

wvdek 02-09-2010 08:55 PM

The first two sets are a little busy. A n S&W would work I think. That third set though is pretty. I like it.

Loretta 02-09-2010 09:22 PM

I think a little busy but I like them. I think the first one would have to be a center piece toned down with solid color borders.

jewelps 02-10-2010 05:45 AM

i think it depends on what pattern you would use with this material

Elisabrat 02-10-2010 05:57 AM

Love the print and instantly went .. OBW perfect for this and then to use as a border on the sides.. I need some!!

lfw045 02-10-2010 06:37 AM

Love them all!

Esqmommy 02-10-2010 06:43 AM

Love the colors. Not anything I'd buy, but that's just my taste. I can see lots of pretty quilts made with it, for sure. The busy one is nice, but will definitely need "calming" down in a big way!

cuppi duke 02-10-2010 06:47 AM

I think the first fabric is a little helter skelter but I like the complimentary pieces. I doubt I would buy the first one but love the panel one and would definitely buy the others.

cabinqltr 02-10-2010 08:44 AM

marvelous fabric for stack n whack or 4 patch posie patterns or OBW. Go for it, do not be shy, it will be great.

Rachel 02-10-2010 08:48 AM

I think the first one would make an awesome back for a quilt that was made with the other fabrics on the front.

Dancing Needle 02-10-2010 08:48 AM

My first thought for the first fabric was Attic Window wall hanging. It would look like you're looking into a "general store" or the like. I like it!

barnbum 02-10-2010 09:18 AM

I like them! It's all is how they're used--as some mentioned.

Mountainquilter 02-10-2010 09:46 AM

I like the fabrics.

Where did you find them?

They would make very nice placemats for the fall, or table runners.

feline fanatic 02-10-2010 09:51 AM

I like the one with all the pumpkins and I love the cream one with the oak leaves and acorns.

Teresa 54 02-11-2010 05:26 AM

too busy for a background in a block for a quilt.
I would use it in the sashings/borders.

I had a similar cloth, and what I did with it, it was too busy . It really depends on how you use it.Check out my table runner.

Honey 02-11-2010 09:31 AM

I love them. If you used a solid to sash them, it would be beautiful.

The first one a closeup. Sorry I don't have a better "over-all" one.

The first would make a nice panel to do a quick fall quilt.

dixiechunk 02-11-2010 10:59 AM

I'm thinking OBW or S&W!
