Durango

This is my 2012 Free Motion Quilting Challenge quilt. I finally got all the quilting done, binding on and hanging sleeve sewn on. Now it just needs a label. I named it Durango because it reminds me of the turquoise jewelry and the beautiful blue skys of Durango Colorado where my mom's oldest sister lived with her family!!! Enjoy :^)

WOW! That is beautiful. Couldn't take my eyes off it for a long time.

azwendyg 10-25-2012 05:41 AM

WOW! You did a great job on this quilt!!! The colors and quilting are both wonderful. Did you do trapunto for the center motif?

I've been following the 2012 Free Motion Quilting Challenge, and have learned a lot from it, but have been up to my neck in other projects and haven't been completing the monthly challenges.

OH MY - just fabulous - speechless here!!!!!

Tartan 10-25-2012 05:49 AM

That is gorgeous!

Homespun 10-25-2012 05:54 AM

Very pretty!

breezyquilts 10-25-2012 05:56 AM

No, I didn't do trapunto in the center. It is just a bit puffier because of the smaller quilting around it!! I used a wool batt that has really good loft too!!

How wonderful for you to have lived there!!! My highlights of our visits were riding the train to Silverton, going to the Bar-D ranch for dinner and the show, and going to Mesa Verde. The last time we were there was in 2002 I think!!! My uncle was born and raised in Durango and raised his family there. A very beautiful place. Fabulous memories :^)
