Absolutely LOVE the quilty pictures on the panel. I'd cut them apart and include them in a quilt. Congrats on the find!!

Love the panel
oh wow, the panels are just so cute
They would make wonderful themed individually framed items. Might I suggest a combination of pigment pens for the more vivid colored portions and dry-brush painting for the softer colors (flesh tones, etc.)?
They would keep their vintage look and you could color to coordinate with interesting borders. And now, I'm on a quest to see if there aren't some similar items somewhere. Absolutely gorgeous and I'm green with envy. |
the panel is absolutely wonderful!! What a great find, I bet you're glad you stopped!
What about black and white log cabins as an alternating block with the panel blocks. Someone else suggested making blocks that are in the panels as well which would be just adorable!! |
Love it!! I wouldnt go wild with colors - I think if you get the othr squares too busy it would take away from the beautiful blocks.
The blocks tell a story so make one up!! Use cream or muslin for alternate blocks and embroider you own story depicted in the blocks. Maybe edge these squares with design similar to the trim on the blocks. If you do other blocks with designs from pictures I would do them all in black and creams but putting at least 4 mini blocks on the one block. this way the large sampler blocks arent taking away from printed blocks. I would try to make two quilts otherwise Use all the blocks for a larger queen or King size quilt. You could use toile in black and cream for backing. OH now I see your problem - as I write this more ideas keep popping in my head lol I do like the window idea also, Maybe you could find a print with outdoor prints such as trees flower garden etc in lack in cream for your alternate blocks. Good luck - hope to see it done cheryl  |
They are lovely! I would put a batting and backing on them and sew around them and FRAME them and put them on your walls!
Beautiful panel! Have you thought of using fabric watercolor pencils to add interest to your panel? Just an idea. They are available at Hobby Lobby. Don't forget the fabric medium to set the colors.

Wow, great find.
It would be neat to frame each one with a white border and black frame and hang them in a spare bedroom or your sewing room. Love them!
I love them! I think that I would paint them very lightly (like watercolors). I know that sounds like a lot of work but how beautiful would that be. I love the prints. Wish they were still available today. Thanks for sharing.

The panels are priceless. Be glad to see what you decide to do with them.
Probably better than the show. Love the panel. What are you doing with it?
You are so lucky! Those panels just scream for some red-maybe a small frame around them.
What a wonderful find! I hope you post pics when you finish the quilt? using those panels...love them.
I might be tempted to color some of those panels with fabric paint, crayons, etc. It would be fun.
They are so cute in Black & White why would you color them?
They just need sashing and a cute border IMHO.

Anyone have ideas for a quilt pattern for these panels? Bobbi |

That panel of block is adorable. Terrific unexpected find.
Please post pic of what you do with the panels. They are AWESOME!
Those panel are wonderful. One idea would be to make black and white house, church, barn, schoolhouse, etc. blocks and place these various panels thoughout.
What a lucky find! I'm sure whatever you decide to do with them it will be beautiful! |
Great find! Love that panel but have no idea what to do with it.
I would make blocks that are like in the panels. and make a sampler quilt.
I love the panels
If they were mine, I think I'd use some fabric paint and lightly watercolor them. Esp the quilts, so they would stand out. So cute!
Ohhhh, I wish I had found them! I can see them set into the center of blocks using pink and black and white as my color scheme. Probably using 30's repro fabric for my pinks. What a lucky find. Sometimes those spur of the moment stops can be so lucky!
Happy sewing, Thurma |
those panels look like they could be to make quilt Labels.
How fortunate you are to find something like that. I am totally envious of you. I have found myself going back about three or four times trying to decide what I would do if they were mine and still can't make up my mind.
Awesome find! Happy Dance for you!
what a delightful surprise... those panels are really sweet.
good for you a great find.
I would frame one set to hang on the walls of my sewing room. Then use the second set in a quilt. You have so many possibilites. I don't envy you having to decide. I have had a few treasures like that at Rummage sales. Good luck!

Bobbi Are they meant to be colored with fabric crayons, ironed to make them permanent and made into a book or quilt? Does it say? I must say I like them in black and white! |
I love the black and white panels. What a treasure to find. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
