Now, if they would only realize that it is only cost-effective if they sell enough fabric. In order to do this, there MUST be an associate to measure and cut that fabric at ALL times, not when and if they can hear the tiny bell ringing when they are half way across the store stocking some party goods or other craft supplies, which are all in the same dept., but not nexessarily in the same vicinity of the store. I can't tell you haw many times I have seen people leave the bolts on the table because they couldn't get anyone to cut.

I was department manager at Walmart fabric department it is music to my ears. Now I can buy some things that I know are the same quality as other stores only cheaper.

Wow! That's great news!! I don't go there often. Last time I went. looked like they had changed things around & spoofed it up a bit. Glad to know there will another place to shop besides JoAnns, Hancock & Hobby Lobby.

If you look carefully the fabric on the cheaper tables has some good quality. Just keep your eye out and you can build a good stash I know I did after 12 years as dept manager. IN my store we carried Debbie Mumm in some prints when it went out I bought almost half of what we had. All fabrics are made at the same mills and on some the quality is just the same

This is a good thing as Martha says I'm already hoping that the Lebanon,Missouri store is on that list because I'll be moving there for my permenant retirement address :thumbup:

Guess Wal-Mart figured out that they couldn't dictate what people could buy, sales must have gone down for them to relize that you just can't take away what people are use to. I know here at our Wal-Mart I would love for the old store to be back (before super store) I hate our super center, down sized less merchindize higher prices, they are faseing out there cheaper towels and only have the higher priced ones. The Fabric section is so tiny compaired to the one at the old store, fabric is stuffed everywhere hard to see what all is there, it just looks messy all the time and that isn't works fault. I hope Wal-Marts learn a lesson that you have to listen to the people, since they have closed down all the mom and pops stores around here.

Walmart has many many stores. I surely hope the Fabric Returns to all of their stores and not just the 700 mentioned by September

He then said that if your store had fabric, you would not lose it. I am enclosing a picture that was taken as he was speaking from the stage of this years meeting. WHOOOHOO!!!

Tjis made the Daily Oklahoman here in Oklahoma City. I wonder if they will do it here because we have two Hobby Lobbys and a Hancocks.
