Gingerbread or Red?

What about Gingerbread on the back and bind in red. It would be reversible then.

Gingerbread is on the back already. :) But, I like the idea of the red contrasting the back.

MadQuilter 11-10-2010 12:21 PM

I think a nice green would be a good contrast to bind and frame the piece. Unfortunately, the gingerbread men would get lost in the binding.

KimmieH 11-10-2010 12:33 PM

I would go red

bluteddi 11-10-2010 12:35 PM

definately the red binding... I love ur pattern

sidmona 11-10-2010 01:07 PM

Red.

Katts 14 11-10-2010 01:08 PM

That's so cute!

trish b 11-10-2010 01:09 PM

Red, you want the center blocks to stand out.

Me too!!

momymom 11-10-2010 01:19 PM

Go for the red.

Murphy 11-10-2010 01:23 PM

I like green.

Jingle 11-10-2010 01:25 PM

So very cute, I would try a green or a color to go with both sides.

DoxieMom 11-10-2010 01:32 PM

I agree--green binding would set off both front and back nicely!!

NorBanaquilts 11-10-2010 01:34 PM

Green would be great, but the red would be okay.

Miss Ice 11-10-2010 01:36 PM

red, because the gingerbread men would be lost as a binding fabric

mollymct 11-10-2010 01:37 PM

I like the green. You wont see the men, but I like the contrast with the red on top!

nana katie 11-10-2010 01:39 PM

I think the green would make the red and centers pop even more.

wolfkitty 11-10-2010 01:44 PM

Red would allow it to be reversible.

Kutnso 11-10-2010 02:54 PM

Great tablerunner. I vote for the red and much good luck sewing it on.
Happy sewing, Kutnso

I'd keep the gingerbread for the back & bind in the red. To me the green is a different tone so won't blend well on the front (it could be the lighting) but on the back would look an entirely different runner.

I vote for the red

Ditto ! good idea.

paintstoregirl 11-10-2010 04:18 PM

My vote is for red too.

gramquilter2 11-10-2010 04:31 PM

I would use the red or a green like you have on the blocks. The gingerbread men fabric no.

Cyn 11-10-2010 04:32 PM

I like this idea too!

Justquilting 11-10-2010 04:34 PM

My vote is red

sueisallaboutquilts 11-10-2010 05:44 PM

That's darling!!

pennyswings1 11-10-2010 05:56 PM

What about picking up the brown in the gingerbread men as a binding? That way it would contrast both the front and the back.

arbed31 11-10-2010 06:05 PM

Red

RedGarnet222 11-10-2010 06:11 PM

Yes Red (of course ... LOL)!! What a nice runner! What is the name of that block?

I cant really tell what the darker green is in your pattern, maybe holly??? that would be nice for the binding. This is beautiful.

sewingladydi 11-10-2010 07:04 PM

Green-but I like lots of contrast.

I made a tree skirt from a Helene Knott pattern. This was the paper pieced version of it.

DawnMarie 11-10-2010 07:44 PM

A friend suggested I use a plain black binding. I'll audition that and the brown suggestion from pennyswings1. Something will make it pop...hopefully before Christmas! :)
