I am always looking for quick, inexpensive ideas for presents or bazaar items. These seem to fit the bill. And I think filled with some homemade cookies, a variety of candies, or jams, or whatever, even napkins would make a really cute gift. So I used 12-inch squares to start with and then added the buttons to the flaps. Thank you for the ideas and the site reference and so many postings. Here is my version.

love them - great job. But don't forget your quilting friends and put some fat 8 in there with some thread or other goodies!!

They are so fun to make and yours are so cute. I need to start on some Christmas ones.

Your fabric selections are great! I made several out of the 14 inch square of fabric, and they hold a square box of tissues. I am going to make more for a Church group to fill with snacks, books, lotion, etc - to give to our shut-ins as a sunshine gift. I figured they could use them after they are empty to hold odds-and-ends in or on their dressers, or a box of tissues, or to re-gift.
