Farmers Wife

The Farmers Wife book contains 100 patterns of 6 1/2 inch blocks designed by women married to farmers many years ago .I can't remember the exact years . I wouldn't have attempted them except they gave paper pieced patterns as an easier way to make them. Some had over 50 pieces. I made 53 of them

53 is plenty. and all in green and white is stunning. a beautiful quilt!
Beautiful result....it looks ethereal.
That's fantastic!
Beautiful quilt and quilting. That green makes it jewel-like, specifically emeralds.
Absolutely beautiful quilt, quilting and colors.
It's a beauty!!
Lovely quilt!
An heirloom for sure! Nicely done and thanks for posting.
Kudos to you for giving it a go. Turned out sooooo beautiful and my favorite color. If you ever get tired of it, you can send it my way and I'll love it to death. Great job.
nicely done, love the colors and quilting
Beautiful quilt and the quilting is perfect for it.
Beautifil quilt and a great layout. Love the greens!
This is a stunning quilt. I like this setting for the Farmers Wife blocks so much better than any other I have seen. Great job!
What could be better in the eyes of those farmers than bright greens. I think your quilt is gorgeous. I like your quilting choices because they complement the lovely squares rather than compete with them. I like the paper pieced technique you used. Great finish.
Agree with comment #14- absolutely stunning!

beautiful quilt!!
That is gorgeous! I love small blocks (make mini quilts off and on) but haven't committed to a complete quilt with the tiny blocks...but I do love them!
What a beautiful quilt and quilting. Definitely an heirloom!
Beautiful in green and white. Good job. I have the book but not the courage (so far). Thanks for posting, I may have to look thru that book again.
Beautiful! I love your color choices. I haven't seen one done using only 1 color palette. I really like it. I think if I was going to make this one I'd do it the same way.
Gorgeous...lovely in greens!!
How Striking! Completely changes the look of the FWS done in this colorway with bright white sashing. You've given the FWS a modern look. I have the book and hope to make this quilt but was planning scrappy CW repros. Your beautiful interpretation is having me rethink that decision. Love the quilting too.
That is a beautiful quilt. Good job!
Gorgeous quilt. Love your green and the quilting is wonderful. Kudos to you for doing such a quilt with so many pieces.
Really Nice! I love the monochromatic look of this. Nicely done points. . .
Very nice, love the colors !
Your version is one of my favorites! Great job!
Beautifully done! Love the 2 color look!
Beautiful quilt. Love the on point setting.
What a lovely quilt, and I really like the way you put the blocks together
Just gorgeous! Love the colors, fabric and the quilting. You hit it out of the park with this!
I don't think I've ever seen one done in a one color wave. Your's if just magnificent and is inspiring me to make one myself!
Wow! This one will surely be a treasured heirloom! Beautiful, and I love the green and white colors. Great job!!
This is beautiful and unique. I came close to attempting this quilt after inquiring about it on the board. I was a little leery due to the amount of errata listed for one of the editions, (although I think I have a later copy.) I have paper pieced several of them though and they did come out nice. Usually I would never paper piece
these types of blocks. Your blocks are absolutely gorgeous! Well done! |
Beautiful blocks! Love the green and white!
Truly a gorgeous quilt! I really like the striking contrast of color - and your precision is amazing - truly a beauty!
