There is no pattern. I went with 6" blocks mainly from quilterscache and the bears are machine applique from allstitching.com.
I put an extra piece of batting under each blanket and I like the puffy effect.
The stars are a bit crocked but it is the first time I made handapplique and I think it looks charming that way. Sadly the blue top thread from the FMQ came through to the bottom. But the quilt is not washed yet and if i am lucky it will get sucked in a bit if I wash it.

Emma S 08-12-2010 12:41 PM

Incredible! Truly one of a kind! Love the different blocks used for each bear. What a great way to make a sampler without making a sampler.

granny_59 08-12-2010 12:54 PM

I am working as a self employed chiropodist and I couldent help but hanging the quilt into the waiting area.
Result: 8 out of 10 clients walked by without noticing, 1 had a short look without comment and 1 asked: where did you buy that?

There is no way to express what your feedback means to me!

Jingle 08-12-2010 12:57 PM

Absolutely gorgeous, love the bears. You did a great job on it.

Your quilt is so cute.

Mornigstar 08-12-2010 06:13 PM

Will say so awesome!!! I had 2 bears made from my fur coat and I have plans to make quilts to go together with them.
To be given to great grandchildren to remember ggm as a sewer/quilter. Dil affects teens not having quilts now.
So I am collecting the rest of the "bear" fabrics but your pattern is greater than my idea.

memory maker 08-12-2010 06:31 PM

I love bears. You did an awesome job and it turned out soooo cute.

JoanneS 08-12-2010 07:04 PM

This quilt is really darling - what an original idea to combine bears with sampler blocks as quilts!
