Oh, WOW !What a different look it gives to the traditional Lone Star. I love it. Love your colors, too. Nice collaboration, you two!

You did a great job.

I am so glad you posted this. I am having a similar problem with the "bump" on a table runner I am making. This really helps. Thanks to you both, jillaine and Peg.

That looks beautiful!!! And forgive me if someone mentioned this, I'm quickly lurking instead of cleaning!!
At the 3:00 spot, and at the 4:00/5:00 spot, do you want those points pointing in, when the rest are pointing away from the star? I hope you haven't completing sewn it together yet... That is absolutely beautiful though!!! |
That is wonderful i am amazed at the fix.

Looking good.

I think the "solution" created an even more beautiful block! Sometimes our mistakes force us to be creative, and great things can happen then! Beautiful.

I've just completed the parallelograms (sp?) that will go into the "new" empty areas. And then I'll need to make four triangles to form the four corners. Then a border all the way around. I am probably going to appliqué a rose from the large-print fabric onto the center, and perhaps sprinkled around the brightest, largest "red" areas, because I think those shapes dominate too much. I am also considering (call me Crazy) embroidering vines with leaves and rose buds along some of the internal white border areas to distract from the oddly placed seams. But that may be too much. Just ripped out the squares going in the wrong direction (this poor fabric has been ripped out so many times!) and I'm just taking a break (here on the board) before going back. I would SO love to finish the top (less the possible embroidery) this weekend! -- Jillaine |
Did you intend for all your points to be facing outwards?
You did an amazing fix and the quilt is beautiful. |
