I have a bunch of flannel that's been sitting around forever and found a great project online that combines fleece and flannel to make a blanket. They suggested tying the 2 pieces together like a quilt but I opted to sew a vertical and horizontal line, then do an X across each section to complete joining the 2 pieces together, really easy to do by pinning each section as you go because the fleece and flannel cling to each other, just need to keep smoothing the material flat as you pin each section. I cut the flannel smaller than the fleece so I could bring the edges of the fleece over to make the binding. I sewed the binding down on my machine using a blanket stitch. Found a website with very clear instructions how to do that as well. Below are the websites:

A church group in my area made alot of these for shelters and homeless, they work up so fast!
