I've made 5 of them so far and have 7 more to finish before Christmas. They are really pretty easy to make, just putzy. I've put DH to work putting my pins inthe center so that saves a little time. I should try the sticky thimbles. I don't have any so I guess that means a trip to Joanns!

I love those and they are easy to make. I got my pattern from a book, but about.com has a "how to make" complete with pictures. go to the website and search for quilting and Christmas and there it is.

I love those. Can you tell me where to get the pattern?

Thye are beautiful. I have made them in the past, I use a leather thimble to push in the pins.

Very pretty. Everything old is new again! It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to revive an old craft!

These are just beautiful! I have the directions somewhere but I've never made any.

Your ornament is absolutely stunning, and the bows that you put on them are perfect!
I made one last year and it stunk!!!All of my pins showed. Have also covered the lid of a metal cookie tin, using the same principle. The fabric is stapled onto a cardboard template of the top of the lid and then glued on to the lid. Then covered the sides of the can with plain fabric. |
