I haven't actually kept track of the time but if I had to guess I'd say about 2 hours including cutting, pressing, and pinning. I usually cut enough squares to make several and get them to the finishing stage, then add the finishing strip, bow and hanger.

Once you have the technique down about how long does it take to make an ornament?

I'm making these for gifts this year and I've figured out that just the assembly, doing the fabric portion, take an hour an ornament. I usually get one done a night after the kids go to bed.

Boy, I wish I had learned about these earlier. I'm scrambling to make 3 by Sunday. It's Thurs but I'm a very determined person, when I make my mind up to do something I do my darnest to get it done. Sleep takes a back sit, too bad eating doesn't  Oh, and working for a living has to get in the way too! :D

Yes I did use fabric strips. I cut a strip about 1 3/4" wide, pressed the edges under so the finished strip is about 3/4" wide.

Thanks! I thought so, but couldn't tell for sure. I really like them; I'd love to give them for gifts next year. I don't know if I'll have a Christmas tree in my quilting room next year, but if so, wouldn't these ornaments be perfect on it?

n2scraplvr,

Thanks for the additional pics, especially the one showing the side. The snowman ornament is so cute! In fact, every one I've seen so far is beautiful.
