Thought I would share with you what I have been up to over the past week... The snow is laying thick on the ground, the temperature is plummetting fast, and I cannot get out without spending two hours digging the car out - quite frankly, I would rather be quilting...
Nice, eh? Pretty sure you can see all the mistakes... |
Thought I might make it into a Christmas table cloth
|
Beautiful
|
It's beautiful! I love the pattern. I couldn't see where there are mistakes.
|
Mistakes? No, but I see some JoAnn's fabric in there - the red with the gold stars? I am using that myself!
|
I will take it for my table if you don't like it...hehehehe
I just love it................... |

Your quilt is beautiful and I can't find even a tiny mistake, you did wonderful work on it!

beautiful

Girls, girls - you say the nicest things. Believe me - there are a number of mistakes but I am pleased that my photography skills are up to the job of hiding them so well!
I am not sure what to do with this top - a fleece backing and light quilting, or a more padded "traditional" quilt. I could use it as a wall hanging, or a tablecloth, although knowing my messy eating habits, I am sure I would spill something on it. Any suggestions would be welcome... |
Beautiful!!!
|
I really like that beautiful colors
|
Lovely, I don't see mistakes either!!
|
Thank you for your kind comments. It was the first time I used strips and I was a bit nervous that I had started something too complex. But once I got the hang of what I was doing, and could form a picture in my mind of what I was trying to achieve, it went more smoothly.
|
Go ahead and use it on the table! You could cover it with clear plastic if you need to while eating, then take it off after the meal. Or Scotchgard?
|
Beautiful. Love the colors

Really beautiful! I love it!

Hi Quilting Cat and Ann Clare - thank you for your kind comments.
I think I will use it on the table at Christmas. I will just take a chance. There is always washing powder and a washing machine on Boxing Day! Just made Pheasant casserole for my slow cooker (crockpot). My sister and family are coming for Sunday lunch and I thought a Game Pie was the thing for the cold weather. If it goes well, I might just cook it over Christmas... |
Wonderful.
|
You did a wonderful job! I would put it on my table.
|
Beautiful, love the fabrics.
Can't imagine all that snow when I am enjoying a nice sunny warm day. |
Sounds like it is a good time to stay home and do your favorite thing....quilt!! Your tree skirt is very pretty too. I think it is a tree skirt...looked at it quickly!
Stay home, stay warm and have a Merry Christmas. |

Would you share the name and source of the pattern for this? It's really lovely!! And everyone here knows one of my favorite patterns is French Braid. Never seen it in this form, though. Thanks!!
|
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!
BTW: Keep your snow with you! I don't want it. :| |
Mistakes??? It looks great to me! Snow brings out the best in quilters, and it eases any guilt feelings about "wasting time" being stranded, as you certainly put it to good use.
|
This is so pretty! You did a wonderful job, and IF there are mistakes, they must be very small :-) Did you make the pattern yourself?
|
Beautitul!
|
Didn't notice an mistakes, looks really good to me.
|
Very pretty, I can't see any mistakes. Great job.
|
Its beautiful and I would use it...I use my runners and if
something gets on them ...they wash... |
It looks very good. Mistakes? Really? Can't see them!

Oh Ladies - all of you have been very kind about my French Braid. Thank you for all your wonderful comments.
It is 8.15am here in the UK. It is cold, but I think the snow is melting a bit. Lynnie25 - I am very envious of you going through your summer - I would give my eye-teeth to see a bit of sunshine right now! jljack - I have the cutting and piecing instructions which I got from a class. The instructions are not really very clear, and I was going to re-write them sometime, but you are welcome to them - just PM me with an email, and I will scan them in and send them via attachment. This was the first French Braid that I have done, and so was a bit of a sharp learning curve. However, I think the results were worth it! Just so that you know that there really IS snow on the ground, here is a pic of outside our house ... |

It's so pretty!! Maybe you could make two of them & then have one for your table!! :D Very nice work.
:D :D :D :D |
Thankyou SulaBud for your kind comment! I guess you have just as much (or even more) snow as us!
I think I would make another one, but not in Christmas Fabric: I also think I would like two clear days with no distractions, in order to finish it properly! I have decided to make it into a tablecloth and not worry if it gets dirty! |
Very nice!!! That will look wonderful under your tree!
|
Nice. Love the pattern and the fabrics
|
if the mistake can't be seen on a galloping horse, then not to worry - no onw else will notice them. We all are our own worse critics. and only we know the mistakes on our quilts
