Hope everyone is well. I have added a topic in pictures for us to post our rows and medallions.

Although we are not sewing the rows together can you take a picture of all the rows when you get yours completed for the quilt you are working on. (that sounds odd, don't it? :)

What I mean is I have sent my row off so when the next row is complete to go with it the picture should include both rows and when the third person works on it, then it should include all 3 rows.

This doesn't seem to be such an issue with the medallion as they will be attached as they go around.

I hope I haven't lost anyone.

Love your medallions, especially the top ones. How did you do them? Thanks for sharing.

Here are my two, in their infancy.

All my medallion partners ignore my glue fiasco on the hearts. I will fix when I get the quilt back next year :)

are you talking about the pink/burgundy one? It is primarily a broderie perse....so a real simple way to put a medallion together.

I was wondering about how you made the green and navy medallions. They look a little like OBW or kalidiscope.

yes they are kaleidoscopes (stack n'whack). took all my patience since I am not a perfectionist by any stretch.

debe 03-04-2011 03:30 AM

i was asked about my avator so i created a lil' thread if anyone is interested.... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-104837-1.htm#2678686

debe, I know what you mean about the stack and whack. I am not a perfectionist either so am afraid to try this block and of course I think it is the most beautiful block there is. Thanks for the info.

ok here it is....there are all the fabrics i got while on vacation in california at the cutest little shop...it was in a historic house. , this is my first paper pieced project and i am pretty happy with it....i am debating adding a row of flying geese around before i send it off...its 16.5 so i may need to make it bigger....or i can let someone else add some flying geese haha

Patched 03-04-2011 08:42 PM

tealfalcon, your medallion is beautiful, hard to believe it is your first paper piece. And the colors look so very rich.

debe 03-05-2011 03:25 AM

Tisha: Oh my God that is amazing...once you get use to paperpiecing you'll love it!!!!!!!!

Everything I have read about round robins has the centre at 24" minimmum so go ahead and add some flying geese if you want....but I think it would be nice to be a couple of rows in from the medallion and something else around it.

The fabrics are wonderful, no wonder you wanted them. Now what do I have in my stash that will match ( hmmmmmmm)

PS nice pattern. who's design? (not that i need another project) :-P

Here's my center for the group in the medallion round robin. My theme is Christmas, and as you can see, it is rather large, the fabrics & pattern are Christmas themed, but the fabrics aren't. Since this is for me...yes, I'm being selfish...I plan to have this one on my king-sized bed. My only request is that each border is at least 1" wider than the one preceeding it. I can hardly wait to see all your talents shine forth as I know they will - quilters are the BEST!

Not all the picture came through...I'll try again.

Joyce: you did a great job; I think it is lovely and I can't wait to work on it...hope the first couple rounds of borders are too wide or it is going to be a challenge for me who is near the end to have an idea :)....lots of time to think though.

I finally finished my row. I know I said, I would hope to have them done last week, but this tax season is kicking my butt! I work for a CPA (certified public accountant) and with new laws that just passed, clients are having a difficult time with their taxes. I've been going in early and staying late to get things caught back up.

So here is my row. It was hard to see the blocks when I took a pic of the entire row, so I took pics of portions as well.

debe 03-18-2011 03:37 AM

Kelly: what a beautiful row...gives us lots of colour options.

cowpie2 03-18-2011 05:20 AM

Kelly - I love the row and the colors. This gets my mind a thinking about how I can add to it.

Here is my row, I changed it up a little by adding sashing between blocks. I decided that I needed a bit of a rest between each blocks. I definitely like it better with the solid sash. I'll be including the solid blue for sashing if you chose to use sashing in your row. I was doing some calculating, 3 or 4 of you can feel free to do only a 6" wide row when working on mine. If they are all 12" it will be too long for what I want since I'll be adding a sash between the rows as well. Hope you like it.

The colors in the first picture are most accurate. The other two look alot washed out.

Correction - Only 2 need to be 6" wide rows for it to work for me. Though if all are 12 I will use them.

debe 03-19-2011 10:26 AM

Carol: I definitely think the blue looks really nice with the blocks. You are right. We will do our best to make it a quilt you like.

Debbie1: You did a great job with my medallion. I like the addition you picked it really seems to suit the centre...also thanks for the "rescue tacking" :)

Love your row. it does change my idea for your row when I add it.

Very nice medallion. I love the colors!

And the row is pretty too. I was wondering what I was going to do for your row, but now I have some ideas in mind.

Crafty3790 03-22-2011 02:58 PM

For my row you can add butterflys or dragonflys or flowers it doesnt need to be just birds.

Crafty3790 03-22-2011 03:00 PM

Love all the colorful blocks cant wait to get the next row.

I've been pondering your beautiful blocks, the poor things are probably cold coming to MN from NC. As soon as I finish a gift for my new grandaughter I'll be headed to the LQS with my plan. I'll be in your neck of the woods mid-April visiting my first grandchild in Jacksonville.

c joyce 03-29-2011 08:15 AM

Now this is getting exciting! I love to see the pieces in progress. I'm in the medallion group so I watch and wonder what'll it'll look like when it's my turn.
I haven't received a medallion yet and did not hear if the one I send out was received??? Happy Quilting to all

debe 03-29-2011 03:07 PM

I haven't heard from Tisha lately; so not sure if she received yours...Joyce although some people are ahead of the schedule you should receive a medallion from Karen before the end of April.
