These are a couple of recent finishes. The garden lattice quilt was from an Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine which I made for my MIL's birthday. I hope she will use this one as a lap quilt, as the last quilt I made for her, she hung on the wall  I thought it would be an easy one to do but the applique took longer than I expected.
The mariner's compass I entered in Rhonda's competition, and I was suprised and pleased that I won. (Thank you to everyone that voted for me and to Rhonda and Patrice for all your work with these competitions) This is hand pieced using the freezer paper method while waiting for the kids at their various activities so I called it "Take Me Home" Nana's Garden Take Me Home |

Beaut work!
I hope you took the wall hanging thing as a compliment from your MIL - as long as it wasn't the toilet wall. Seriously, I love the fabric in that one - it's so fresh and pretty and lifted by the contrasting greens in the intertwining ribbony bits (technical term!). And the Compass I loved so much I voted for it - sadly, the day after voting closed. So I was very pleased to see you won. And the quilting on that one is elegant and perfect. :-D |
Both are just gorgeous! The garden lattice quilt is beautiful, but I am a freak for Mariner's Compasses! You did an excellent job on both!
