wow, loving that! I wish I had a flair for matching up fabrics. I do ok, then look at other ppl's stuff, and get blown away. :D

Beautiful fabrics. I love the pattern. She is going to love it.

That is beautiful, Eddie! I just love the soft colors in Aviary. You did really good matching up the stripes.
I like both of the borders. |

Beautiful quilt Eddie!! I love it and I'm sure that your daughter will love it too. Have you though about a 1.5 and 4.5 for the borders. I use those measurements a lot on many quilts I have made.

Great job, one lucky girl!

Beautiful quilt, Eddie! Gosh my Dad once made me a hamster cage but never a quilt! Just to throw a spanner in the works, I like the 1" 5" border layout! But maybe you could audition Gayle's suggestion of 1.5" 4.5" as well?

I have the blocks all stitched together now, so am ready to start on the inner and outer border. As stated previously, I'm going to use the green fabric for a thin inner border and the light background fabric for a larger outer border and backing. The green will then be used for the binding as well. I need opinions on the borders. I had initially planned to do a 2" inner green border and a 4" outer border. But when I layed materials next to the blocks to get a visual on it, the inner border of 2" looks too big to me (see pic below). So I tried it with a 1" inner border a 5" outer border and it looks better to me. The binding on either one would be about 1/2". What do y'all think? Which one do you like better, the 2" / 4" combination or the 1" / 5" combination? Eddie I prefer the 1/5 combo - then again I am new to this game LOL. Whichever YOU find pleasing on the eye you should go with I think  Tisha |
