I like it too. You may think it's too busy, but Kaffe Fassett makes a lot of money with that same look.

What's wrong with it??
I'll take it, hands down.
Very pretty.

I took it out today and still hate it, but I added the border...and I'll eventually convince myself to sandwich it.

 On the bright side, I'm planning a vacation...and I won't have to worry about the quilt police yelling at me when I'm sitting on it on the beach.

This quilt is July 2010. I liked it so much I was thinking about what I have in my stash to make one to.I hope your vacation went well.

Hey Arizona, when you get older you'll find out that you like much brighter colors.ha. Barny

My first impression was how beautiful the colors are, though I did enjoy the joke about scappy baby!

char634w 01-30-2012 02:51 PM

Give up the coffee - just kidding. That quilt is beautiful and you can send it to me if you can't bear to keep it. Put it away till after your vacation, the next time you look at it you will appreciate it more and I bet it will start to grow on you. Thank you for sharing.

sparkys_mom 01-30-2012 02:52 PM

I think it is pretty!

BSKTLOFR-QUILTER 01-30-2012 03:01 PM

Perfect beach quilt, but I would rather be wrapped up in it on a cold winter night thinking bright thoughts to match the quilt.

iluv2quilt65 01-30-2012 03:57 PM

In my opinion, you really needed an inner border - perhaps a turquoise or magenta that would bring it all together. Your inside design is fun !!! This is just a thought to consider next time. I usually do one or two inner borders (of different sizes) to define the interior of the quilt. Your quilt is still beautiful and would welcome this as a gift anytime.

It reminds me of a wonderful beachy paradise........

Your version of vomit is waaaaaay different to mine:) I think it's a beauty and worthy of more than being a beach blanket....Thanks for sharing it with us.

I think it's very modern looking . Many a young mother would like it for their child.

Mahalo - that quilt is beautiful and if you decide you REALLY don't like it, send it on to me, I'll love it and give it a good home!

lillybeck 01-31-2012 10:45 AM

This is gorgeous. What is not to like about this

TanyaL 01-31-2012 10:53 AM

I think that it looks better than 95% of the scrappy quilts that we see. I love the blended color scheme for your warm palette.

sewingsuz 01-31-2012 10:58 AM

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I like it also.

cathyvv 01-31-2012 11:16 AM

I absolutely love how you described the quilt! That made me laugh!!!! I just finished a quilt top that I do like, but after working on it for a couple of days, the dominant fabric started to look like someone had barfed on it after eating pizza or spaghetti.

I know this is almost sacriligous to say, but I generally don't like batiks, so I don't often like batik quilts. Of course, I am also color challenged, very nearsighted and have double vision. Put them all together and focusing on batiks, as my then 3 year old daughter used to say, "makes my eyes go". (We never did find out where her eyes went!)

Batik or not, I do like the border print!

Like you, I probably-maybe would have finished, but could never love this quilt unconditionally. But, on the beach, yes. At a picnic, yes. In someone elses home, absolutely.

breezyquilts 01-31-2012 11:18 AM

I like it too!! Reminds me of the summer and the beach, PERFECT!!!
