The only thing I did not like was the brown borders....finally realized that was your couch! I like the colors in the quilt! Go ahead and finish it. :)

tryitall 07-12-2010 06:17 AM

Donna P 07-12-2010 06:24 AM

Lizzytish 07-12-2010 07:24 AM

I think it looks great also!

I usually don't like anything I make right away so I hang it where I have to walk by it a lot and I begin to like it then.

lillybeck 07-12-2010 07:31 AM

If you really hate it just send it to me because I love it. It s exactly something I would put together.

Conniequilts 07-12-2010 07:33 AM

since you are beachbound I think it is perfect.

ann clare 07-12-2010 08:17 AM

I love it

sewnsewer2 07-12-2010 08:21 AM

It's in the eye of the beholder, I think it look fine. You should be proud and if you do run into the quilt police, tell them to mind their own business!

bob1414 07-12-2010 09:11 AM

I like it a lot - thank God you didn't say it looked like baby poop!!!

quiltincharlotte 07-12-2010 10:23 AM

I think it is great!! I love colorful fabrics - they are very cheery!

Ditter43 07-12-2010 10:31 AM

JudeWill 07-12-2010 11:05 AM

I must be drinking the same coffee, 'cause I like it--a lot! In fact, I think it's really pretty! So, you might have to watch out for those quilt police, afterall!

grandmaquilts 07-12-2010 11:08 AM

I really like it. It is beautiful. My granddaughter wants a hawaiian print quilt and I hope I can do as well.

wisconsin 07-12-2010 12:07 PM

beautiful

annette1952 07-12-2010 12:16 PM

Although I love your description of your quilt... I think you are way too critical of it. I think it is awesome! Also I think once you get it quilted you'll love it! I do! But if you really don't like it then I'll PM you my addy! LOL

sheliab12 07-12-2010 01:01 PM

I think it s wonderful. EVeryone here has said so. However if it is not our styly you will never like it. Finish it and give it to someone who likes it or sell it for what you havce invested. You will never like it so don't keep it but don't let it go to waste.

Sewslow 07-12-2010 01:23 PM

I love your new picture. You look like a fun person to know.

Forgot to indicate to whom this was directed. It was for Quilting Grannie, but you all look like fun people to know.

I like the colors that you picked. If you have not sandwiched it yet, and are willing to do a bit of work, you could separate it out a bit with some black, or brown sashing. Then it would not look so busy, and you might be happy with it. As I said, the colors are fine, just close to each other.

Tweety2911 07-12-2010 02:16 PM

I also love it. The fabrics go together really nicely. Once you quilt it up you will feel the same as well.

Gramma 07-12-2010 02:46 PM

I think it looks great. I like the colors.

auntiehenno 07-12-2010 03:01 PM

Love the colors. I was in same position when I made a dble Irish chain for my mother before she died. If you do not like the binding, do you have scrapes of blocks? Sew them in a strip, narrower than one you have on and I think you will like it.

joyceelaine1951 07-12-2010 03:53 PM

I like it a lot also.

Jannie 07-12-2010 04:06 PM

Looks like there are lots of people you can give it to. Not sure how you will decide it gets your beautiful quilt!

GladGrams 07-12-2010 04:08 PM

I love it! I'd call it "The morning after the night before" LOL

It is actually quite a feat to have accomplished.

CarrieAnne 07-12-2010 04:09 PM

I like it!

amorerm 07-12-2010 04:33 PM

I think they match OK. Why not quilt it with a Bright Color Thread that shows and brigtens in it up a bit. Otherwise, I like the quilt. I really think the quilting can perk it up and change your mind.

QuiltNama 07-12-2010 05:31 PM

Love it, my type of wonder brights. Send it my way.

deedum 07-12-2010 06:23 PM

I love it, you can just send it to me to love!

SillyStitchin 07-12-2010 06:45 PM

Because of the bright colors, and because you are thinking about taking it to the beach, back it with some terry cloth. Great for a beach blanket. I could go either way. Kinda like you that it needs something to calm it down a bit, maybe some solid piping along the borders and for the backing. But on the other hand, if you really don't like it, have you thought about charity? The people that can't see well or the children that are shut-ins really love the bright colors. I feel it is a very cheerful quilt and you should enjoy it any way you can.

roseOfsharon 07-12-2010 06:47 PM

It gives the impression of a sunset at the ocean. I think it is quite lovely.

Debra Mc 07-12-2010 07:43 PM

Thats discusting but the quilt is pretty. We are our own worst enemies sometimes.

quiltingnana1 07-12-2010 08:14 PM

I love this!

wraez 07-12-2010 08:21 PM

I think it is absolutely wonderful!

Have you seen Kaffe Fassett quilts? Many of them looked like he had too much coffee, or Kahlua or something.

That quilt is too beautiful to be delegated to the beach...but it is yours, you made it and you can do what you want with it.

I'll be happy to take it off your hands and give it an honored place in my home! You don't even have to finish it! really, I do love it.

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

Pam Pollock 07-12-2010 08:22 PM

PBCHRETIEN 07-12-2010 08:23 PM

I really like it. I think the colrs make it very lively.

galvestonangel 07-12-2010 08:27 PM

I like the bright colors. But remember it is still one of your children.
