I like your top, it is going to make a pretty quilt.
Take borders off and get either a deep marroon or navy to sash the borders around the top. This will block the business of design in the quilt.
Your border ties it all in together, I think. A perfect beach quilt!
I love it...it is very bright, cheery and sunshiney looking :D:D:D
Pull your favorite color like the tourquise or the aqua for the boarder and it will change the whole look. I actually love it.....
It looks wonderful to me. I know my DD would love it.
Indeed it's Interesting!! :-)
i actually like it too, I think its so crazily bright, how could you not get warm?
Really nice....and crazy like me :-)) |
I like it!!!
I think it's beautiful. Love the colors. Hope you do finish it in the future.

Wish my Hawaiian shirts would mate like that. Personally I love it. I love bright colorful quilts and this one has several "sub patterns" in it that I also like. If you really don't like it, you could sell it as is. If you do decide to sell it let me know how much you want for it. Don't price it too high, afterall, you don't like it. LOLOL
I'm just kidding about selling it, it's beautiful. |
let me add my votes.
description hilarious!!!! :XD:     quilt: i see what you mean about the "busy". i would feel the same way if i had made it. BUT since i didn't, i'm like the rest of us are able to see what you can't. it does, in fact, look quite nice. i wouldn't change a thing. pick a binding fabric that pops. when you quilt it, use thread that contrasts and also pops. use the top as the stage set and background so the quilting becomes the lead character. when you're done, i'll bet you love the play. ;-) |
I like it! You did a great job. I, too made a quilt that I didn't like the way it turned out! Much too busy! That was years ago and I am still using it and enjoying it! Quilt it and enjoy a beautiful quilt!
I love it......you can send it to meeeeeeeeeeee........lol.
I love it! The bright colors and busy pattern remind me of my mind....busy, busy, busy!
I hate to tell ya, but I went to a quilt show yesterday and saw two similar quilts (Kaffe fabric), Everyone was wowing over them

If you are serious about wanting to - break it up a little - I have a quick idea for even a finished quilt. Get a roll of fusible bias tape in a color that would work for your quilt - lay it out and see how you can use it as very narrow strip sashing that you can fuse on and applique with a twin needle to give some definition and added structure to your design.
I really like the use of the bright colors, but as I am into adding embellishing to my quilts, this might help you like your quilt more. It is an add-on that can even be added-on to a finished quilt. I don't see a close up but depending on what thread and design it is quilted with - it might be possible to use a #12 or # 30 weight decorative thread in a open decorative stitch to make definition lines. I guess your quilt really speaks to me as having more potential for play. PM me if you have any questions about pursuing any of these ideas. |
