grey quilt
 

I just finished this grey and white quilt top. My son gave me this fabric for Christmas. I normally sew using purple (and sometimes blue), and he wanted to make sure I didn't already have the fabric he bought. So he bought in colors I don't normally use.

However, I really like this quilt. It seems gentle to me, no shouting. Nothing pops. I actually liked this the whole time I was making it, which is rare for me. I tend to take a look in the middle and say "What was I thinking?' and then continue and end up liking the quilt. But this one I liked the whole time...probably because it was fabric my son selected, right?

Anyway, thanks for looking. Hot Rod, the cat, likes it too, though it is a bit hard to tell.

No, my son isn't interested in quilting, other than generally being supportive of my hobby. :) He is an artist though, or at least art was his minor in college. I have always trusted his opinion.

Beautiful quilt!

I once made a quilt with fabric that my DD had picked out. I didn't like it at all, but she did, so I found myself liking it too. It's nice to step out of your comfort zone and find that it's not so bad after all.

The fabric is from Hobby Lobby, if you really are interested in it. The pattern is pretty obvious...but the details are 8 1/2 inch focus fabric blocks and 4 1/2 wof strips made into four patches. I ended up with 8 inch blocks. Of course, any sizes would work. :) Thanks for liking it enough to maybe want to copy it. :)

Your quilt is soothing. I made just one quilt with various grays and I loved it too. It was just a soothing type of quilt.
