I'm even thinking I might turn the whole thing through 180 degrees so it's portrait rather than landscape - my OBWs often come out this shape and I finally realised that it's because that's as far as I can reach! So I might get the step ladder out. Anyway, wanted to share where I was at.

I'm sorry the picture is so dark - my camera died and this is DH's and his flash isn't very good!

Now I'm waiting to see some other ppls! :-D

At the moment it would come out at around 42" x 48" but the more I look at it, the more I want it tall and skinny! Probably because I'm on a diet myself! LOL If only it were as easy to change my body's layout! Right, I'm going to get the step ladders out and do some fiddling.

That might be because you're an artist & come up with new/lovely work. Mine tends to same ole....

Love how it is looking so far K! Are you going to use any cubes in this one? Now be careful on that step ladder!

Don't know yet about the cubes, I have a germ of an idea involving applique... and as for the ladder, yes, I was careful! It's now tall and skinny (unlike its creator!) I'll take another pic later, got more juggling to do yet! :D

How fantastic! It will be interesting to see how many different blocks can be achieved from one fabric, depending on where you start to cut each strip from on the repeat!!

Looking forward to seeing all your progress soon!!

I love the applique on top of the OBW (like your tri)...I started last year appliqueing on top of pieced stuff....I love the added dimension, so you GO girl!

Oh...and if you get the "right" type of mirror...you can be tall and skinny too!

Yeah right, like a funhouse mirror - knowing me, I'd end up just looking plain weird! But anyway, another 3 lbs off when I got on the scales this morning so that's OK! Anyway, back to the OBW - re the applique, I was thinking of fixing the shapes to fusible batting before sewing them on to make them pop even more. Like my seagull. Anyway, that's in the future, gosh don't I ramble on sometimes! Anyway, here's my first tall and skinny layout and I must say I like it better. Now it will ferment for a while and I'll sit back and watch for the other ladies' pics! :-D
