Our guild had an ugly fat quarter challenge.
Each participant supplied two fat quarters of the same fabric. Exchanged one it with a partner. Added two more fat quarters of another fabric and again exchanged these with the same partner.
Challenge to make something from these 4 fat quarters.
Here is mine from a Ricky Tims pattern.

Very nice!

Which one was the 'ugly' one that you started with?

My ugly is bottom right and partners ugly is bottom left.
I added the top left and partner added to top right.

medots 07-27-2011 04:50 PM

I like it. I'm seeing more and more Ricky Tims that I like. Might have to investigate more.

Well, they all came out together beautifully! It would be cool to see the quilt that your partner made from the same fabrics.

Tweety2911 07-27-2011 05:43 PM

Good use of "ugly" fabric -- but truthfully, I don't see an ugly fabric in it.

Great job.

Snorky Lvs2Quilt 07-27-2011 06:59 PM

Geeezzzz I don't see anything ugly. Goes to show "ugly" is in the eye of the beholder. Nice quilt.

luckylindy333 07-27-2011 07:01 PM

Once again, I am seeing it is value rather than the color or print that really makes the quilt. Great job!

amma 07-27-2011 07:53 PM

I sure can't find anything ugly about this quilt :D:D:D

Very nice quilt.
Several years ago soon after I started quilting our guild had Blanche Young as a speaker. Her first sentence was, "I love ugly fabric." It was a trunk show and she made the most beautiful quilts from ugly fabric. Individually they were ugly but once put together they were gorgeous.
You accomplished the same thing.
