Help with Old Quilt

3 Attachment(s)
This is my first time posting something. I'm working on a 'quilt' for a co-worker's son. His great-grandmother made it for him over 24 years ago and he wanted me to 'fix it' for him. Well, I'm posting what I've done so far and would value your opinions.
Picture 1 is what he gave me to 'fix'.
Picture 2 is what I salvaged.
Picture 3 is what I've done so far.
I still have a long way to go. I used my scrubs from work and some material I found at Good Will. I plan to take time and finish it by hand.

You did a great job. Can't believe that quilt is only 24 years old. That poor quilt had the bejeebers kicked out of it. Good luck!

Oh my gosh! What a great salvage! I couldn't imagine trying to save that quilt and you did it so wonderfully! Beautiful work!

Mercy, that looks like it is well loved. You have done a terrific job salvaging it. Be sure when you turn it back to him to let him know that whatever he had done with it, it won't survive another salvaging.

You're one brave woman. I wouldn't have thought that quilt could have had any life left in it. Beautiful job.

What a marvelous rescue. I'm sure it was more the memory than the guilt, you did a great thing!

You are doing marvelously!

You have done wonders with this quilt! I wouldn't have even attempted that job!
