I have been meaning to post a picture of my sewing spaces for your girls to see. I know I have enjoyed seeing where you all sew your pretties that you show and tell. So, this morning I straightened up and took these to show ya.

Here is the sewing table space in another spare room.
I got rid of twin beds from this room and gave them to my sister. I have another guest room so I figured that this is a better use of space, right? But now it is being invaded already by hubby. Now what?? Buy another house? Dang it! LOL! Help the man things are coming in here too! oh my I am drooling  :!:
what a niced set up you have so bright and cheery. It is all so nice and neat and orderly, nothing like mine :( Of course mine is in the basement and I just don't let anyone go down there. Love your green window topper. ... not to mention the Gracie II  |
What a nice area you have. Mine wouldn't look that neat if I spent all day straightening it up!
|
Very nice! Is that a Bernina I see? Which model? I have the 640E.
|
What a wonderful space. So bright and cheery.
|
Red You are soooo lucky to have the space to have all your sewing paraphenalia together, mine is spread about as I only have a little alcove in the kitchen, but I am not complaining, I have a lovely view from the window lol!! Is it always so nice and tidy??
|
I'm glad you clarified you cleaned up- no one works that neat.
Now, let's see you "in process"- before and after pics. :) P.S. Maybe hubby wants to spend time with you, he's not invading, he's bonding. |
You have a very nice sewing space. I have a treadmill in my space too, I use it as a quilt hanger. Currently it has about 8 quilts on it just waiting for the quilting part!!!
|
Wow what a neat room! My sewing room has never been that neat! :(
I would send picture, but will take 1 week to clean! Maybe I'll get motivated now! Thanks Ninnie in NC |
Very nice room. And it is too neat!!!!!
|
No cat fur? No thread on the floor? Are you sure it's a sewing room?

Very wonderful space you have RedGarnet!!! So big and bright!! :D |
Oh come on now girls! Of course it gets messy! If you look it is a small room. I am a neatnic though and clean it up after each project. Not so much because I want to as I have to. If something gets moved five steps from where it was I can't find it. LOL!
I don't mind hubby using the room for his treadmill. But, he uses it well before I am awake, so it isn't that he wants to be cozy. He was recently diagnosed with type II diabetes and had to exercise more, so that is the only place for it. That is unless we get rid of the only other spare bedroom! Nope too much company comes here to do that! I used to have to use the kitchen table too. That was not fun having to clean up every night even if I was going to sew the next day. Believe me, I enjoy having my own room for theses things! ps) My cat sampson died two years ago. He was 17 years old. Thank You Thank You Thank You to you all for enjoying my pics. |
Love your sewing room. And remember, you never need to tidy up before inviting us over. We are used to clutter and loose threads. Sorry about your cat. Even if it was two years ago I am sure you still miss him.
|
I love company Come on over! LoL!
|
Okay where is the stash??????.....:-)
|
Love it; but where is the stash.

PS think I spy stash in those drawers under the work table?

Very nice place for sewing and I love that dress.
|
Love the space!!
Wish mine looked that good after I straighten up. Wanna come do mine?? |
Terri .... Why I would lov to come over there if you have gotten rid of that lizzard and whatever that wierd goul was outside at night!
Reneebobby ... Thanks that is my sewing apron. LoL! It was really fun to make, but I love to sew on bias trim. I know, twisted thinking, but, you see I love the "fingerwork" as a gal once called it in North Carolina. It is quiet and homey to sit and stitch. Ok ok that fabric stash is in the double door closet and in another bedroom's closet. It is somewhat organized, but I need some shelving or plastic drawers for it. I still sew clothing and home deco, so it is mounting faster than I can get to it. LoL! Please don't ask me to show it until I get it a little more organized, ok? Thanks .... The little oak chest is full of patterns ... That is all patterns. Every kind. I love patterns. Old and new. The drawers under the quilting table have finished tops, threads, bobbins embelishments, needles and the like in them. All quilting stuff. k3n ... Ummm I think they would end up on the floor or draped back over the table. He wouldn't let me get away with that for sure! Good thinking though. gcathie ... when I get it a little more organized I will show it. I promise. It is in the closets. LoL! |
Red-What a wonderful room you have to sew in. I am a neat nick too and try to keep my quilt room organized.
|
Thank God there is one person on the board like me! I get all nervous and edgey in a room that is a wreck. Thanks marcia! I would perfer to spread out into a larger room, but, I am just happy I have my own space to sew in.
|
Red, I also like to at least start off tidy - everything laid out, lined up with precision - but I always end up messy!

Looks like a magazine lol. My daughter is like that. Everthing in its place. She was the same as a child.....At least you can find things....I have to have extra tools cause of the mess
|
Your space is beautiful! I love the organized look. I find I can only really relax at sewing if there is nothing I need to tidy up. I get distracted by the mess.
You have a beautiful big window. My sewing room is in the basement, and though it's a bright room, the window is small and I would love to have more natural light. When my daughter leaves home (she's only nine, and I am thinking way too far ahead here) I will convert her upstairs bedroom into my sewing room. Lots of light and space for all of my stuff. Then I will even have room for a quilting frame and machine! I'd better start saving - I have only about nine years to save up! |

I'll invite you one day when I have everything straightened up, Promise. I do get it straight when I can but we have to make choices sometimes, don't we? Hugs, Sharon |
WOW way too neat....did you spend half day straightening????? I'm not going to show mine LOL
|
Hi Redgarnet: I, too, love your sewing space. Wow! If only my room was so neat and clean and organized. I have wonderful office furniture and cutting tables and 3 floor to ceiling book cases that all match beautifully but you can't see them for the "projects" that are in the making! My room is also the computer room, partial storage (what is stored in here is my STASH) and it's my little piece of HEAVEN on earth. I love it in here and spend lots of time doing my "thing" but I envy your neatness ...also like your long arm quilter. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I'm trying to figure out why that treadmill is there! LOL!

HEY! How did I miss your post showing your sewing room???? Very nice, maybe I might have to clean mine and show it.... This winter it's become a multi purpose room to which I'm not very happy about. Right now it has seeds strung all over As I sort them out.

RG, I'm a bit like you, I like to start out with a clean, vacuumed room, but shortly after I start a project, it no longer looks like that!! Threads are all over the floor, pieces of fabric everywhere, just in case I need it again!! :D Rotary cutters on each end of the table...don't want to reach too far...too much like exercise!!  I don't think my room is ever clean enough to actually post pictures!! I love the fabric on the back of your chair...is that a pillowcase?
|
 I sm sorry I missed responding to some of you girls so long. I have been doing some spring cleaning and redecoraing. It is hard when you have company almost daily to get much done.
The gardens are coming along too this year. The clean up has been hard on my arthritic knees and back. But, dang it I will get it finished! LoL! k3n ... I understand exactly what you are saying. That is what happens here too. Thanks for putting it into words. Terri ... Hey congrats on your new space. It helps to spread out a little huh? Ruth camp ... I know you understand if your daughter was a neatnick. Can't be helped, it just is. It has it's good points and bad. Right? Courtpointe .... Oh yeah! Another neatnic. Thanks sister ! LoL! ps) I really love your altavar quilt. Mimisharon ... Oh now hon, I would have such a good time visiting, I would not notice anything else. I am not like that. I took care of my mom before she passed away. I understand completely. I hope you have a little time ot yourself today. Linda R ...... I am going to be honest. No I did not. Feathers .... I just have the new laptop santa gave me in there and it works good to interact with the sewing machine. Maybe santa will bring you one too. LoL! Our family room has the desktop and printer down there. It is perfect for playing on the computer and being with the family at the same time. Cathy ....Me too! But, I have gotten used to it now. It's all good. Quiltncrazy ... yeah girl jump in here and show your space. I love seeing all the sewing spaces my quilting buddies have. Echoes! Hi sweetie. I have been doing the clean up outside between snow storms. I need a huge load of compost now for the beds. Starting my seed swap seeds later this afternoon. :) Come on show your sewing space. I would love to see it. Whew! This has been fun talking to your gals this morning. Thanks so very much for all your nice comments. Like I said, anytime you all want to visit, come on! I love visitors. |
Hi Dorothy,
That is it exactly. The creative mess. LoL! Oh come on, why not take a pic? If you look at the posts, everyone loves to see your space where you sew. I know I do. That is a hand towel on the back of my chair that I use to keep the chair back clean with. It is easy to change out weekly. There is a heater/air conditioner duct right above my chair that blows down on it. |
Sewing rooms that are picked up and have space! My sewing room; between the bins of fabric is a trail to the sewing table and machine. I'm not kidding, I am a Pack-Rat professional. I decided that it is not an illness, it's a gift. I can deal with the problem in thinking that way. My two quilting buddies are almost of like minds. Helps to stick together in our view of things.
