Good morning everyone! I'm going to try to make a baby quilt for my sister who is going to have a little girl in November. Here are the fun fabrics that I have. Any suggestions on what kind of pattern I should do? I think I may end up back at the fabric store to get either another white or pink fabric so that I can be sure to separate the busier patterns.
Thanks!! |
I would do a disappearing 9-patch using all the fabrics. What a great variety of colors and patterns. You could also make a strip tube quilt and that would really showcase your fabrics, too.
|
You could use the fabric pictured in the lower left as a center panel and use the others as borders.

so cute! I suggest get a rosey purpleor hotter pink and then to D9P.

Thanks :-)
I'm scared of the disappearing 9 patch. I tried to do it one but chickened out lol. at first I thought that I was going to use the lower left fabric for the back but and just do blocks but then I got worried that when it came time to quilt, my blocks wouldn't line up with the blocks printed on that fabric and then it would look bad. |
Yup, I'm with everybodyelse disappearin 9 patch. Love the fabrics!!

Have you seen that Anita Grossman Solomon pattern that uses 3 one yard pieces of fabric to make 3 quilts of an elongated 9 patch? It is available online with the cutting instructions, clear pictures showing how to align for cutting and the sewing is very easy, just 6 seams!!! I've done a couple for baby quilts this year and they go together really fast!! Plus you can improvise the quilting when you sandwich it & it looks so cute! Check it out. I think it was called 3 yards, 3 baby quilts and it might be at the Quiltmaker magazine website. I mean it is really adorable & very fast & easy!

Oh those are so cute!! I think that a D9P would be great with them.
|
Rail Fence would be darling with these pretties.

D9P would be great. I'd get a very strong pink to fuchsia solid or blender for the center block. That's the one the ends up as the small squares. You won't need much.
