I think the colors are great

Jackie Spencer 12-12-2012 08:11 PM

Its beautiful. She will love it and by the time shes 30 the colors will have muted and be much softer, and she will still love it!

Peggy Jeanne 12-12-2012 08:41 PM

I think that it is beautiful!

Sewfine 12-12-2012 10:23 PM

I think it is beautiful. That's the same thing I say about my 13 y/o granddaughter that is so facinated with "Hello Kitty" and wants me to do her bedroom with Kitty. Thanks for sharing.

Teddybear Lady 12-12-2012 10:49 PM

I'm 60 and I love it! Don't worry, she will too.

dhanke 12-13-2012 12:19 AM

I think it's wonderful, I'm sure she'll love it always. Your range of values is perfect, I've seen lots of hidden wells quilts that were either extremely busy or muddy looking. IMHO you nailed it!

Quiltforme 12-13-2012 01:02 AM

If my grandmother gave this to me I would treasure not because I may have out grown a color but because my grandmother took the time to make something so special for me. She will love it for years and years to come!

DOTTYMO 12-13-2012 01:59 AM

She will love it. I'm 56 years older than her please if she doesn't have it pm for my address. I love the colours definitely not too bright.

Judyth 12-13-2012 02:53 AM

She'll love it because it was made with love by her Great Grandmother.

MamaBear61 12-13-2012 05:24 AM

I would say it is perfect. She will treasure it and hopefully it lasts until she is 30. I know of a few quilts that were so loved they were literally loved to pieces :-)

grammysharon 12-13-2012 06:03 AM

I have have a 7 year old GD and she would love this quilt!!! She would say this is a "happy" quilt!!! No it is not too colorful it is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

roadrunr 12-13-2012 07:07 AM

She might not always want to use it (you know how one's taste change!), but she will always cherish it since her great grandmother made it for her. You made a lovely quilt and she will always have fond memories of you!

AFQSinc 12-13-2012 07:16 AM

I think it is beautiful. The colors have alot of life in them. The quilting also, will tone down the colors a bit but I would never call it too bright or gaudy. She will love it because it was made by you just for her!

katkat1946 12-13-2012 07:51 AM

I think those colors are FANTASTIC!!! And she may just love it so much now that it will be worn out long before she is 30 so start planning the next one. Plus, I am double 30 (plus a little bit:) ) and I would STILL love it!

dilyn 12-13-2012 09:29 AM

There is no way we can predict what anyone will like in 30 years. Make it for her now and she will love it now. The memories that it brings back to her in later years will make her love it then too... How could you not love something that was made especially for you?

calicojoan 12-14-2012 03:54 AM

I love it. Hidden wells is one of my favorites, and this one is definately worthy of being anyones favorite!

dove 12-14-2012 04:03 AM

i think the colors are awesome and it will be gorgeous!...can't wait to see the finished project:-)

A1penny 12-14-2012 04:42 AM

I'm 73 and i love it! I love brights, and always have. I would give my right arm...and my right leg to have one of the quilts made by my grandmother when i was a little girl!

Yooper32 12-14-2012 04:43 AM

I would call that subdued, not bright at all.

sewdarnbusy 12-14-2012 05:12 AM

It's perfect for a young girl. By the time she is 30, it may be worn out. I gave my grand kids quilts and they are very worn out. The kids are ready for new quilts and the quilts aren't even 10 years old. I'm happy that they have used them for all these years.

lillybeck 12-14-2012 05:13 AM

This is perfect. As for bright it goes in between dull and outrageous. It is beautiful and at 30 she will love that GG made it

Pieces2 12-14-2012 05:52 AM

I don't think its bright at all. Looks like a quilt a 30 something would like, not sure its bright enough for a 7 year old.
Needs some print fabric, too many solid fabrics, a bit bland looking. Maybe a nice big print border will do the trick. :)

what goes around generally comes around, who is to say it will not be popular when she is 30 and she will rejoice at your innovative style. LOL

Friday1961 12-14-2012 06:28 AM

It's beautiful! Whether 7 or 30, she'll love it. These are ageless colors!

LindaLoo 12-14-2012 06:59 AM

I think it looks happy, the colors make me smile.

inspectorcmm 12-14-2012 07:02 AM

I have gdk's that age and they love purple!

maviskw 12-14-2012 07:04 AM

I'm almost above the speed limit in Texas! ! ! LOL
I love the quilt, but I printed out a color picture of what you had done, and something hit me in the eye. The pink frame joins a pink center in several places. That produces an X of pink. I think it takes away from the overall look of the squares. Take a step back with a door peephole, a mirror, or a camera, and see if you really like it that way. Since the blocks are not yet sewn together, now is your chance to change it if you wish. It could be you won't be able to change it because a lot of blocks in the same row have the same color center. Otherwise, I think the quilt is just beautiful. I would love it at any age.

quiltmom04 12-14-2012 07:20 AM

Your quilt is great! So fun- bright colors- eye catching design. I haven't read all the replies, but maybe someone else said what I'm going to say. Don't worry about what she may or may not like at 30! Give her what she would like NOW! Her tastes may change, but she will always treasure the quilt!

firequilt 12-14-2012 07:24 AM

its lovely.... she will love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

quiltingeileen 12-14-2012 07:38 AM

Beautiful. I don't think it's too bright. The colors look very nice together. She will treasure it always.

Lots of people like bright colors throughout their life. Nice quilt.

milikaa1 12-14-2012 09:01 AM

No, not to bright to me, I think it is beautiful and she will love it forever...no matter what age.

fivepaws 12-14-2012 09:08 AM

It is perfect!!

debcavan 12-14-2012 09:12 AM

Put on the dk purple for the border and it will calm it down. I like it.

imnywoman 12-14-2012 09:54 AM

It's very pretty and when she's 30, she's still going to love it because it will be filled with love and memories that you started. Go for it, it's perfect!! Happy Holidays.

bevster 12-14-2012 10:02 AM

I love it and my 16 year old Granddaughter loves it. What pattern is it?

aeble 12-14-2012 10:46 AM

I'm 30 and I love it. I don't think it's too bright at all, I think you've nailed the right mix between too bright and too light. Based on your colours, this quilt should be timeless.

IBQLTN 12-14-2012 10:50 AM

I absolutely love it!

kqqlme1147 12-14-2012 10:56 AM

I think she will still love it because you made it just for her.
