I think she will love it because it's gorgeous. Secondly, she will love it because you made it for her.

It's not too bright as children love bright colors and you have a nice contrast with the fabrics and color choice. Great job. She will love it.
I think she'll love it now, and when she's 30. I love the pretty, bright colors and got cheered up just looking at it for a few moments!
absolutely awesome....never too bright or happy....you achieved both....
I love it!!
Love it....AND I'm 60!!!!:)
I'm 60 and my daughter is 23 - we BOTH love your quilt!! Go for it!!
I love the colors! I am sure she will cherish it whatever colors you do! :)
I think it is great. That is mild to some of the bright I have seen
It's beautiful and very "girly", she'll love it forever!!
Wow!! I think it is great! She is gonna love it!
She will love it now and love it then because it was made by you. At thirty she will have wonderful memories of you making this for her when she was seven. It has exactly the right amount of brightness. :):):)
I think it's perfect!
The colors are happy and maybe she will wag it around and love it and by the time she's 30 she'll have to frame the remnant that's left.
I think the color choice is perfect and she will love it even when she's 30 cause you made it for her.
It is beautiful. She will love it.
I am a senior citizen too, & I like it. If it's her favorite color, she will always like it. If her prefernce changes when she's 30, she can look back as a historical fact about her: what she liked at that age.
I don't think it's bright at all, in fact I think it's pretty subtle, maybe my eyesight is going? LOL. I think she'll love it. Great job! |
Looks great... I love the colors... and the pattern is different...What is it called?.. I like it all
Hi Bevster: This pattern is called, "Hidden Wells" There are many sites with instructions. It is very easy. You decide on your strips and colors. Sew at least 5 together and then measure the width of the sewn piece, cut a square out of the strips and then you cut those squares diagnally. Then put the triangles together to make this pattern. Super easy but appears to be very difficult.
Thank you for your encouragement and good luck making one for your GD. Yolanda Wood River

Thank you everyone who answered my thread. You are all so great. Love this Board.
The dark purple fabric is gorgeous up close. It has lovely flower designs in it. The photo makes it look like a solid. All fabrics are batik and are "patterned". I am totally in love with batiks. Thanks again. Yolanda Wood River |
I was searching Hidden Wells quilts to see what others have done and yours is the first with solids (more or less) that I've seen! Since I'm thinking about making mine from some handdyeds that I just made, yours answers my question of, "Would it look good without busy prints?" and the answer is YES!!!! I love yours!!!!

I'm 61 and I like it! The colors all work together. You did a great job!
She will love everything about the quilt when she is thirty! Most importantly, she will treasure the memory of her GGM making it especially for her. Think about it for a minute. Any one of us who has a quilt made by a mother, grandmother, or someone special, regards it as a beautiful treasure, regardless of color or design. Your GGD will love it as a child, and love it as a precious memory of you when she is an adult.
