I am making this quilt for my GGD who is 7. What do you think? Is it too bright? I think it is. She will love it now but don't know how she will feel about it when she is 30.

I think it is great! She will like the brights, and because it was made with love by you!!

lallyann 12-12-2012 10:26 AM

I am 37 and I LOVE IT! I think bright colors are always fun :) She will love it now, and later!!

jkwynn 12-12-2012 10:29 AM

I dont think it's too bright at all. If she loves it now, she will love it then - some of my favorite things are associated with the memories they bring, even if they are of a style I would never choose NOW - if it was special to me as a kid, it is still special.

My daughter is 20 and would consider that pretty calm. It's a great quilt and your granddaughter will love it.

red-warrior 12-12-2012 10:31 AM

I think it is beautiful and I am above the speed limit!

ranger 12-12-2012 10:32 AM

I am a senior citizen and I love it! I think your GGD will love it now and will love and appreciate even more when she's 30. Go for it!

I believe the colors are wonderful. These are the colors that my GD's age 11 & 12 love, and their bedrooms reflect these colors. Have a great holiday season!

Thank you. I feel so much better now. I know that I don't have classy tastes and so I am very insecure about my choices. I will continue on and post the completed quilt. Thanks again for your support. Yolanda

I think it's great and she will too because you made it for her.

QuiltnNan 12-12-2012 10:55 AM

it will be treasured by then. keep on going with what you have

nannyrick 12-12-2012 11:07 AM

It is beautiful and she is going to love it.

BeckySt 12-12-2012 11:07 AM

Absolutely gorgeous for any age.

ruthrings 12-12-2012 11:21 AM

I also don't feel that the quilts I make for my grandkids need to be "bedspreads" or have a room decor designed around them. They can be lap quilts pulled out of a basket, or blankets under a bedspread. The quilt is beautiful to look at!

QUILTNMO 12-12-2012 11:30 AM

i think its great!!!!

mighty 12-12-2012 11:37 AM

I think it is great, love the colors!!!

geneva317 12-12-2012 11:41 AM

It's beautiful! I think when she's 30 she will be able to pass it down to her own daughter.

Donna 66 12-12-2012 12:47 PM

She will love it (it's great) and when she's older, she'll remember just how much she loved it when she was younger and cuddling under it. I love the bright colors! Donna

humbird 12-12-2012 01:09 PM

I made a Hidden Wells quilt about 15 or so years ago. Liked it just fine, but I sure wish I had used the colors you are using! It's beautiful, and I am waaaay over 30! Was actually over 30 when I made mine.

Diane007 12-12-2012 02:00 PM

She will love when she is 100...
nice colours

Marilynsue 12-12-2012 02:22 PM

I love it and I'm in my 70's! Don't worry, just remember that you making it for her will be all she needs!

ube quilting 12-12-2012 02:39 PM

She will love it always, even as her style changes as she grows, as it should be. This is a bright and spirited quilt.
I love it.

cathyvv 12-12-2012 02:40 PM

Not too bright, but I really like bold, un-apologetic color in quilts! Colors are very girl...and won't go out of style. She'll love it forever, don't worry!

patski 12-12-2012 02:46 PM

I still like bright colors and I'm gramma!

TeriD 12-12-2012 04:07 PM

I love it now and I'm 45!

JJean 12-12-2012 04:14 PM

owlvamp 12-12-2012 04:15 PM

It is beautiful and she will love it when she is 100 years old because you made it for her.

redquilter 12-12-2012 04:41 PM

I'm a lot older than 30 and I love it! She will enjoy it all her life.

Tweety2911 12-12-2012 04:47 PM

A girl never outgrows her love for purple/pink! Beautiful quilt!

Make that another Senior who loves it.

I think its not to bright to begin with and no where near gaudy. I am laughing however at the thought a quilt given to a seven year old will survive til she is thirty. The child is 7. She will not treat it as an heirloom and with many washes and much love it will get worn. If it does survive she will then treasure it for the memory of who made it and the years of use. My children have quilts they were made at children. My oldest now 27 as a very young boy wanted a jamaica colored quilt. I made it with REAL bright colors and offset it with blacks .. it is a bold bright quilt lizards yellows! bright greens! etc and you know he still loves it. the others love theirs too because of the memories. I think your safe. ps that is a gorgeous colored quilt.

rebeljane 12-12-2012 04:54 PM

I love it!

sniktasemaj 12-12-2012 04:55 PM

It will be nice for her now and in 30 years it may fade a little if she likes it lighter then.

LoisM 12-12-2012 04:59 PM

I'm sure my DD and GD would both love it! Can't wait to see it completed. Thanks for sharing!

Wanabee Quiltin 12-12-2012 05:02 PM

I like it a great deal, but I am wondering why you are worrying about something that might not happen for 23 years ?

alikat110 12-12-2012 05:08 PM

Obviously, we all think it will grow with her....it is fabulous!!!!!

Dolphyngyrl 12-12-2012 05:12 PM

Its lovely, very good contrast in the colors, I think she will like it

Quilter 65 12-12-2012 06:49 PM

I think that is beautiful. Never seen that pattern before and really like it. My Gkids all love bright. I am sure it will be a big hit!

4EVERquilt 12-12-2012 07:09 PM

It's not gaudy at all!! It's really a nice quilt. She will love it.

kateyb 12-12-2012 07:11 PM

I don't think it is to bright. I made one for a 10 year old niece in lots of purples and she loved it. I think people who like purple love it forever.
