They're great. I really should make some as gifts. They'd be good stocking stuffers, or a little bigger yet, they could be placemats that would work very well on a round table. Remember if you use Insulbrite to tell the giftee that they can't be used in the microwave.

I think my old Kenmore has a big enough bias binding foot that would make this much easier if I can get the hang of it. Has anyone tried that? I wouldn't use it on a quilt because I want double fabric on the edge, but for a little utilitarian item that tends to get stained before it wears out, that might be ideal. I'll have to try.

I just have to add that the spell check does not approve of "stuffers", "placemats" or "giftee", and of course not "Insulbrite." That must be some kind of a record for one post where I'm going to actually stick by my preferred spelling and let the spell check go pout in a corner.

Very clever idea. I used to make mine like that using the sandwich plate for the big potholder and a saucer for the small potholder. They worked great. Yours are beautiful. I loved making mine.

I just go very slowly following the curve. The part you fold over will look kind of scrunched/gathered before it is folded to the back.

Too cute! The binding is so perfect, I thought it was pipping or covered cording...just lovely and perfectly done.

I made one of these, and it turned out great, dont have a camera and even if i did i wouldnt know how to put it on here, i used insulbrite and the all cotton batting, I'm going to try to make a rectangle one now. But I see Christmas gifts in the future
