For me there are no "mistakes" in quilting, I like to call them "opportunities to be creative" and roll with that. It's worked well for me so far and I have now have a nice stash of "mistake-free" finished quilts :-) In your instance I love the ideas mentioned by other posters that suggest some type of applique (jumping fish, anchor, turtle), just use your imagination !!! Have fun with it and dont stress.

My be just my imagination, but if you take that side border off, and smooth down the top, and reposition that border, I think it would come out right....
