Put a fish there with a flag with name and date on it.

If you are a "serious" quilter, take that sucker apart and do it right! but if you're a "casual" quilter (like me...) just sew something over it and get on with the next quilt. You learned something, didn't you? So have fun!

at lunch. did not read all pages.

Open up the border, and splice in more water. looker-atters will look at the boats & never notice.

Or move the whole border. You would only have to detach the top and bottom seam where borders touch. Don't remove the red border, just re-sew the seam wide enough to grab the gap. trim seam to 1/4". re-sew border at top & bottom. That border will be a tad bit narrower than the other 3, but, no quilt police allowed! LOL...

or applique on top...pier posts or seagulls.

I think erstan947 has a great idea. Sort of 3-D.

applique a fish or something over that open space. You can always fuse it down too.

Hey, you're not happy! Then fix it however you choose. If you're not happy with it now you never will be. Later you'll remember how clever you were to be so creative!
