This is the finished top. I have been working on this off and on since early December. Being down since the end of December with all the bugs that came through this has been my only real accomplishment this year so far. A form of stack and whack. Some are calling it Magic Tiles.

Looks like mosaics, did you get the pattern from a book? How did you pick out the fabrics-- what was your crtieria?
Beautiful!

This is lovely and you did a great job. I hope you are now over the "bugs" and moving forward into a healthy spring. Thank you for sharing.

That quilt is magnificent! I have that same fabric in oranges, golds and greens. I couldn't get myself to cut it up in small pieces so I made a bunch of placemats with it. I should try to find more and do the four patch OBW technique. Yours is sooooooooo good.

KiwiQuilter 03-08-2011 08:57 PM

Wow - neat idea. It looks great.

No, I saw one done that was similar and just changed the sashing a bit. I am one of those people who buy fabric because some day I know I will find just the pattern for it. I had this fabric in my stash for some time and it just begged to be in this quilt.

mzmama 03-08-2011 09:37 PM

It kind of looks like a 4 patch posy doesn't it.

BizzieLizzie 03-08-2011 09:45 PM

this is so pretty, I love these colors and I am going to have to learn this technique, I have never done a stack and whack but I think I might have been inspired to try it. Love your quilt!
