I Need to Name This Feathered Star...
2 Attachment(s)
I took a class from Marsha McCloskey in November 2010 at the Annapolis, MD Quilt Guild. I sent this Radiant Star to a long-arm quilter who kept it for 15 months (eyes-rolling, I won't even get into that!) I think she did a really nice job on the quilting.
I'd like to put it in the Annapolis Quilt Guild show this year, but I need to name it. Do you have any suggesstions? p.s. The pattern for the feathered star is in Marsha McCloskey's Feathered Star Quilt Blocks I book. I designed the borders. |
I would call it "Oh, my gosh". That was my reaction when I saw it. What a lot of work and a great job
That is really beautiful
I'm not good at naming, but that is a stunning - beautiful quilt. What a unique design in the center, and you did a wonderful job on the borders. But 15 months at the LAQ'er. Oh my goodness. I'd have been wondering if I was ever going to get it back... Best of luck to you in the show.

what is the name of the fabric line you used? Is there a pretty name there?
lovely quilt. |
Pretty quilt, nice feather quilting. Reminds me of sunset at the edge of the forest.
Beautiful quilt. maybe for the name ... Feathered Flower. or Star Flower.
Really nice I love the quilt and the quilting
Beautiful! Some how it reminds me of heat and snow ... The heat of the moment - Dangers of Winter - Warmth by the Fire...OK getting weird here!
I can not tell what the flower is, but how about Autumn Rose(or what ever the flower is)
"Marsha by way of Herndon".
So nice quilt! Jan in VA |
Flower in the Forest maybe? Whatever you decide, I'm sure ribbons are in your future!
Awesome piece!! Colors and quilting are gorgeous.....good luck with a name :)
Rose among the thorns. It's beautiful, whatever it is. The colors and pattern are gorgeous. You did a great job on it.

Beautiful quilt and quilting, just one question, did she get into the dark blue print on the bottom of the pic with her quilting? If she did, did she also do the same quilting on the other dark points? If not I would remove the quilting in that one point. 15 months way to long for quilting. as for a name hummm how about sunset rose.
Beautiful, wonderful work!!!!
Kaleidoscope Poppy! And very beautiful - love the colors
My first thought was "Morning Star" since it looks so bright, more like just before sunrise when the stars seem to fade away ...
how about 'star bouquet'? it's really gorgeous
Sorry, bad at naming. Gorgeous quilt and quilting! Good Luck in the show!
Well she did quilt it beautifully. Maybe she was intimidated by your beautiful top and didn't want to mess it up? The first thing that popped into my head was "Star Of The East" as in the song that goes...Star of the east , oh Bethlehem star...
I can't help with the name but it is a gorgeous quilt.
Love the names, what a beautiful quilt!!!
Is that flower a Hibiscus? If it is how about Hibiscus Star. It's lovely whatever you call it. Thanks for sharing.
Love the quilt, but unfortunately no good at thinking of a name. That is hard to believe you LAQ had this for 15 months.
Oh my! How about "A Quilt that Rebecca Couldn't Make If Her Life Depended On It"? LOL! That quilt is STUNNING! Wowee! I like the forest sunset name idea.
Beautiful quilt!
Beautiful Star Flower. Lovely quilt!
my first thought was autumn snowflake

This is a really wonderful quilt. I think I might call it Autumn Glow. But the name is really unimp[ortant. Your choice of fabrics is certainly not what I would have selcted forthis, but it works stunningly. Good for you.
Looks like "Harvest Poppy" to me. :)
