Someone put a lot of time and effort into that project. I bet they will be glad it has a new home where it will be loved and appreciated. :)

Gorgeous quilt - glad it was rescued. I know you'll enjoy it.

I have a quilt my grandmother made in crazy quilt pattern. I has velvet, silk, satin, cotton - you name it! Some areas need repair, but so delicate. It is stitched to muslin squares but pieces are not square and different embroidery stitching all over. It will fit a full size bed. It's definitely a treasure to me.

will you line the back with something or leave the wool on the back as well?
it looks like someone used bits of coats or had access to wool samples, doesn't it? my aunt used to cut into coats after her three girls all wore them and all outgrew them. they all became blankets in upstate new york.
