I am going to close the opening where it was cut and leave the wool that it has on the back. What is a woo quilt doing in hot Texas??????

I have several old beat up quilts that I have bought online and in thrift stores. I just love that they would have such fantastic stories to tell. Some dear lady quilter put her love of her family into those quilts, and I love having them hang around my house. Yours is just wonderful! I love the colors, and those stitches are great!!

Someone did a lot of stitching on this quilt. Glad you found it.

I should be finishing up my doll quilt swap to get into the mail; but, a neighbor gave me a couple of really old, beat up cutter quilts and I was up 'til midnight and again early today cutting into one. It was a complete double side - one side with fairly yukky (but old) squares of anything and everything fabrics; the other side with triangles of more interesting fabrics. The two sides were sort of bound together and were tied. The surprise came when I found two old dresses used inside the two outsides. One was still hemmed. I guess they just puzzled fit garment pieces in to use as batting. Very interesting. Looks like 30's or 40's dresses, mostly handsewn.
