If life gives you scraps...
1 Attachment(s)
I have tried it seems forever to post this picture. Get your sunglasses. This is probably the most fun quilt I have ever made. I love scrapy happy quilts. Got the idea from "15 minutes of play". It just kills me when I read someone is throwing away scraps. Anything too small to use, I give to a lady who makes dog beds for the Humane Society. Nothing to the landfill. I think the quilting is so fitting. Jeanne from Butler Crafts quilted it for me. There is a long story behind it, but I won't bore you. Enjoy.

That is indeed a happy quilt. I can see why you had so much fun.. It came out terrific.

Those bits of cheddar yellow really make this a fun quilt.
lots of colours....

That is awesome!!! Looks like a fun quilt. The brighter...the better. My daughter is so into florescent and she wants me to find fluorescent fabric...lol. I'm taking my time looking. :)
Makes you happy just looking at it. Just beautiful! I love scrappies and always salvage the tiniest scraps...
I love scrappy quilts and yours is super!
I have found if you let people know you collect scraps for quilts, it's amazing how many people love to clean out their fabric -- and not throw it away!! It's better than my birthday and Christmas wrapped up into one!! LOL!!! I have a "dog bed" bag to donate at every guild meeting. Believe me, these are truly scraps (usually less than 1/2 inch).

What a gorgeous scrappy quilt, this is so my kind of quilt :) Love it !!
Oh that's a super fun quilt!

It just feels good that somethings are designed with such useful things and turn out to be a great looking and admirable stuff. I would also like to say that I also just kept on looking towards it. This really is a great looking scrappy quilt.
Great quilt.....it put a smile on my face. Love all the colors in it.
Wow this is one pretty bright scrappy the best kind!!!
Nice & bright quilt! I used to throw out scraps... until I joined this board. I have a whole new appreciation for all to be done with them :)
That is a true scrappy - well done.
I love string quilts for the very same reason - there's rarely a scrap that's too small. Your quilt is full of life - looks like lots of fun to make!
A feast for the eyes! Wonderful job!
I love it.. Actually, I love it so much I'm in the middle of making four that look a lot like it. I'm making them for my staff, but I'm doing QAYG with 4X4 6" squares. I'm having a great time doing it.
I saved about 18lbs from being put into dogs beds when someone asked how to use the scraps, and I wrote a message telling about a better use of scraps. |
Wow...... love how vibrant it is!!! Great job!
that's adorable...i love the spools of thread!
I love scrappy quilts. The fabric scraps tell a story. Many years ago my mom made a doll quilt for my oldest daughter. It was fun looking at the fabric scraps that had come from my sewing days in high school and later on.
love it. I have started to make one too!!! Thanks for sharing.

Love it!! Love it!! Wonderful way to use up little scraps. I am trying to use up my small scraps to make doggie & kittie beds to give to local shelter. When my bin gets full of small scarps, I rotary cut up very, very small to use as filler.
